The Hot Chocolate With Those Little Marshmallows On Top

For some strange reason

I feel happy

When I see

Those dainty, little marshmallows

Sitting snugly in a mug of chocolate

Waiting for none other

But me.

The taste?

I don't mind

The things humanity has done

Makes all things unpleasantly sour

Then again, I qualify

In the category of all things

Kindness? I try.

I feel that I

Am but a marshmallow

Soft on the outside

Softer yet on the inside

Caused misery and death

To be created

Such is life.

The world is but a cup

Bound to be destroyed

At some time or another

Taken for granted

Marshmallows are people

Ruining the aesthetic

Center of attention.

Although the marshmallows

Are unique in a way

There are far too many for uniqueness

Eventually we dissolve

Into the void; oblivion, if you will

And are forgotten

Forever.

For now I will drink

This cup of cocoa

And pretend I thought of none of this

People will forget

Soon enough

We all dissolve

Eventually.

A.N. Trigger Warnings (for this poem dump): Uhh mentions of mental illnesses (such as depression, anxiety...), mentions CIPA, mentions addiction, mentions suicide, ummm swearing (probably??)
It's not that bad I promise. Mentions of suicide is in like 3 ish poems maybe.
