Rain and screams
Can everything I want to be rid of
Manifest itself and be released as a scream?
Are my lungs powerful enough for that?
If it is, I think I'll need to scream forever
To be rid of every hallucination or
Unwanted and intrusive thought that comes my way.
Hush darling, you're alright
Let the storm and screams
Send you away tonight.
Let the rhythm of the rain,
Insanity, wind and tears
Wash away your pain
And dim all your fears.
Let the shrieks and fire die
And let the room become dark
In the silence you will lie
Listen to rain, not thoughts. Hark!
Listen to the rain drops
Listen to your tears
Listen to the wind
And let it overcome your fears.
Listen to the thunder
Let it drown out your screams
Wait for the light of lightning
When life isn't what it seems.
Hush darling, you're alright
Let the rain and noise
Drown all your thoughts tonight
Acknowledge that you do not know
If what you see is real.
Stop clawing at your eyes,
Close them, listen and just feel
The symphony outside
Ignore your hallucinations
Just listen to the water
Feel the rain and it's sensations
Just ignore the urges
Just ignore the pain
Just ignore your thoughts
And instead focus on the rain.
Ignore the thoughts of drowning
Ignore your burning lungs
Wait for the droplets and the splashes,
Listen to their songs.
Hush darling, you're alright
Let the water quench
The flames tonight.
When you see your world go up in flames
Just try to close you eyes
Wait for the storm, it's true and real
Do not believe your lies.
Just let your tears fall in rhythm,
With the pattern of the rain.
Hear the thunder and the torrents
Let it wash away the pain.
Watch the city burning
Watch the people cry
Watch the honest raindrops fall
And kiss the sordid thoughts goodbye.
Know the fire isn't real
Know it's grim imagination,
Listen for the real things
Including the precipitation.
Hush darling, you're alright
Let the thunder lull
You to sleep tonight;
Let the storm and screams
Send you away tonight;
Let the lighting save
You from shadows tonight;
Let the rain and noise
Drown all your thoughts tonight;
Let the squall's song
Be your lullaby tonight;
Let the water quench
The flames tonight and
Let the raindrops bless
Your dreams tonight.
