DEATH FEELS LIKE A MEMORY
Death feels like a memory to me
One step ahead of me,
Always ahead of me...
But what if I were ahead of death?
If life were a lie
Then so was I
A hallucination all along.
A beautiful lie
Shielding me
From a terrible truth.
For oxygen is toxic
And I am addicted.
When I stop breathing
Darkness creeps from the inside
Because that's what it is
Darkness, nothingness
But if so
I was never here
And I never heard
Nothing
All is a hallucination
A trick of the mind
A side effect from breathing,
That when we withdraw
We see nothing
And we hear silence
We Feel numb
Only to realise that this feeling
Is a familiar sensation...
A.N. The inspiration for this was a song from Hamilton (Yes, yes, I know. I'm one of those people who discovered Hamilton late. So what? Sue me.)
