Had I not met you
My heart wouldn't have been broken
At least, not by my best friend.
Had I not met you
I wouldn't cry as much
When I think about what could have been.
Had I not met you
I wouldn't have hours of conversation
That only existed to fill up time
They meant less then, when we were having them
Because now, I'm longing for them again.
Who would have been my best friend?
Who would I blame my life on?
Who would have talked forever with me?
Who would have broken my heart?
Who would I have shared my first kiss with?
Who would I cry over?
Had I not met you
(Well, I'd have a lot less poems, wouldn't I?)
Do I regret?
It depends on the day.
I'd like to say I would do it over again
But I don't think I could.
Had I not met you
I wouldn't have to think about these things.
But would I want it any other way?
Today, yes.
Today, I want nothing more than to wake up
And forget you.
Tomorrow, it maybe different.
Tomorrow, I might cry for you
Hoping that tears will miraculously bring back what we had.
Next week, I might feel both of those things simultaneously.
