The world did not end in a bang, or a whisper; but rather, one scream at a time.
Screaming. That's what you heard first. Peter fell into your arms, his sudden weight almost making you fall over. "Peter?" You asked, wrapping your arms around him.
"Y/N. I don't- I don't know what's happening to me." He breathed, wincing in pain. You looked past him and at Tony as another wave of pain came over Peter, making him retract and push into you again. Tony saw as Peter's weight became harder for you to handle, running closer to the two of you.
"Peter, come to me." Tony said gently, holding his arms out. Peter stumbled back and into his arms as Tony cradled him, bring him to the ground. Around you, people were falling. Doctor strange, the guardians... they simple disintegrated into dust. You felt powerless watching Peter cradled in Tony's arms, crying out in pain. It was getting worse. You crouched next to Peter and Tony, grabbing Peter's hand softly. There was nothing else you could do. Something was happening to him as well as the others... but slower. He was still here. They were dust.
Peter squeezed your hand, his breaths slowing and becoming more rigid. "Tony." He said, looking to the man who held him tightly, "Y/N." He continued, turning his gaze to you, the girl he loved... but never told. His eyes were looking all over your face, as if he was taking in every part of you for the last time.
"I'm sorry." His voice broke as he faded away in Tony's arms, leaving only you and the Stark. The hand Peter held came to your mouth as the tears pricked your eyes, desperately falling down your face. You latched onto Tony as the two of you cried, simply wishing that this whole thing never happened... that it was only a dream.
"It's only you and me now, kid." He whispered, pulling you closer to his chest.
