It was as if the sky was crying the tears that you couldn't shed any longer. Your vision was blurred, and you didn't know if it was from your bloodshot and glassy eyes or the pouring of the rain. It hit your shoulders rapidly, your small umbrella having been discarded at your feet only minutes before. It ran down your body like a steady stream, causing a definite shiver down your spine. Your clothes stuck to your body tightly, surely exposing every flaw you had.

You had to hold onto the small trophy with two hands, the rain causing them to become slippery.
You didn't necessarily want to come in the first place, but now you didn't want to leave. Seeing the words carved into the marble headstone made your heart rip again and again. 'Scott Edward Harris Lang. Loving partner, father and man' you couldn't look at it for any longer, having to tear your eyes away from the sight. So you just stood there, in the pouring rain, the small and golden trophy in your hands.

You held it out properly so you could get a full look at it. You skimmed your eyes over the engraving, also running your fingers over it. You smiled the slightest bit at the words on it. 'World's best Grandma'.

"I miss you, Dad." You said softly, placing the trophy next to the headstone. "I can't believe it's already been a year." You looked at it for a few seconds, before willing yourself to leave the cemetery. You were beyond wet, and beyond sad. You just needed to go home.
