Your hands were bounded behind your back as Clint Barton stood a few meters away from you. You knew who he was, but due to the mask you were wearing, your identity had been kept a secret to him. Natasha Romanoff stood as intimidating as ever next to him, her arms crossed and body language closed off. You tried once again to free your arms.

"We've caught you. Stop resisting." Natasha said sternly, a hand coming up to touch the arrow necklace on her neck. The arrow necklace you got her years before you went off the grid. Years before you were forced to leave S.H.I.E.L.D by a company with much darker plans for you than saving lives and protecting others.

As Clint took a step further towards you, getting ready to remove your mask, you tried to move your head away. "NO." You seethed. You didn't want him to see you as a villain. He didn't deserve that.
Your head trashing did nothing to relieve the situation. If anything, it made Clint more adamant to get get it off. You could already feel the tears pooling in your eyes as remorse tore through your body. "Nononono." You repeated it continuously, feeling as the first tear fell from your face.

In an instant, your mask was off, and in the hand of the man who used to be your mentor. You watched as his face fell, realisation coming to him.

"Y/N." His voice was barely above a whisper. You looked to Natasha, who was a few steps behind them. Her face was the same; a mixture of confusion, realisation and betrayal. Clint dropped the mask at his side. "Why?"

Your lip quivered as you tried to find the words to say. "I- I- don't call S.H.I.E.L.D, please Clint." You pleaded. "I'm sorry. I'm really re-"

"WHY, Y/N." Clint's voice was suddenly booming, anger being a new emotion he was feeling. He was angry. Furious. Nat was still in a bit of shock, only just beginning to move towards you. Tears streamed down your face.

"I didn't have a choice. They threatened me, my fami-"

"We ARE your family, Y/N! Well, at least we were. We could have helped you." Natasha's voice was beginning to raise as well, her hand tightly gripping on the necklace.

"Please don't call them. P-pl-please."

Clint shook his head, looking to Natasha. He nodded at her, and she got her phone from her pocket. She dialed the number, and looked directly into your eyes as she spoke.

"We have her secure. Bringing her in now."
