"How can you be friends with her?" Rose asked, looking past you to the girl across the cafeteria. The girl that just so happened to be your best friend, "isn't she like really weird?"
"She's cool." You shrugged, turning around to see as MJ sat myself at the table, intently reading her book. Rose raised her eyebrows as she let out a surprised laugh.
"Seriously? She's reading a book on human bondage."
"Of human bondage." You corrected. If Rose's eyes could widened any more than what they just did, they were sure to fall out.
"W-What? I don't think there's a di—"
"Of human bondage is a book... not a how to on tying someone up." You explained, "now stop looking so shocked, I'm going to have lunch with my friend now. Goodbye Rose."
Rose watched as you left towards MJ, and the smile that appeared on her face when you sat across from her. Rose didn't know how you could be friends with such an outcast like her, but the pair of you looked so happy that it almost didn't matter.
