A|N: I disregarded the rest of the Christmas imagines because it's now 2019 ahah.

Delilah wasn't like most people.
She was young. She was a fighter. In and out of foster homes and hospitals since she could walk. Through all the unbeknownst mental stress of continuous moving and being in pain, she took quite a liking to one of the doctors. Doctor Stephen Strange.

He wasn't even her main doctor. He's only ever saw her once or twice for an actual reason, the rest being because the soft part of him wants to see the smile on her face when he's present. You loved it, too.
You were Delilah's current foster parent, also having spent the longest amount of time with her. The nurses say that you have been the best one they've seen take care of her as of yet, and that they're grateful for that. They know Delilah better then anyone, so that was the most sincere complement one could get.

You had also grown quite a liking to the doctor. You've seen him in the halls. You've heard him talk to his coworkers and other patients. He originally didn't seem like a good person. You were reluctant to why Delilah would like such a man.

When he entered the room, you realised why she did. His whole demeanour changed. He became such a kind and gentle soul to the 6 year old, treating her like a princess. On her birthday, he even brought in a balloon and her favourite food. He was incredibly sweet underneath his rough and narcissistic shell.

There was a knock at the door. A knock that both yourself and Delilah recognised immediately. You two smiled widely at each other as the door opened. "Doctor Strange!" She cheered, getting up onto her knees on the bed.
"Dee-Dee!" He cooed, walking towards her. Your heart melted at the nickname. He held out a hand, "high five?"
She smacked it, and Stephen faked a hiss. "Ouch! Geez miss, you are getting way stronger!"

Delilah giggled, smiling.

Stephen looked over to you, and the both of you made eye contact. He smiled at you, winking. You smiled back. He turned back to the small child, listening to her barely coherent babbling and hand movements.

What a great doctor.
