For Tom, love was tantalising. It was something that always seemed slightly out of reach. He barely even knew what it was like to truely love someone... so when he met you, he was confused.
He found himself in a cycle of thinking about you, and wanting to spend every waking moment near you. He thought he was going insane. When he was in the same room as you, his eyes would follow you as you walked around, chatting to everyone. When you'd talk to him, he'd blush and stutter, fumbling all over himself.
He even went as far as talking to RDJ about his situation, asking how exactly he should go about it. Robert practically laughed in Tom's face, clapping a comforting hand on his shoulder. "It's love, buddy," He chuckled, leaning back on the couch, "definitely love." Tom was taken aback by those two sentences, not sure if Robert was being serious. Love was a serious word, a word that Tom only ever used for his family and close friends. Could he really be in love with a girl he's known for a little over a year? It was daunting, but possible.
As Tom was fighting his mental battle (regarding his love for you), you were very much the same. You had taking a liking to Tom, not needing any clarity from someone else. You knew what love was like, and this was it. Your mind would race when talked to him, attempting not to lose your mind. You were whipped. Whipped to a boy that you thought would never like you.
