            || Adriana's POV ||

I walked the empty streets, the cool breeze made chills shiver down my body. Blowing my tears away.

Thoughts filled my head of how everything could've been worst.

Luckily, he only drove about 12 blocks so I was able to walk back home.

About 4 blocks in a man approached me.

"Excuse me miss!" A guy yelled from behind me.

I quickly wiped my face, then turned around to face him.

He jogged up to catching his breath.

"I seen you crying back there, is everything alright?" He asked, sitting his suitcase down beside him.

"Yes, I'm alright thanks for asking." I answered, continuing walking.

"Wait wait miss, you don't look alright." He said, stopping me in my tracks.

"Here take this." He took his jacket off handing it to me.

"Thank you for the jacket, but really I'm alright." I said giving him a slight smile.

"I'm Gabriel." He reached out to shake my hand.

"I'm Adriana." I hesitated before shaking his hand.

I pulled away and began walking once again.

"Where you heading?" He asked, grabbing his suitcase and running up to me.

"I'm sorry, do I know you?" I folded my arms.

"No you do not but that can change." He gave me a big smile.

His tooth shinned. Just like in the movies.

"Ugh, just like the rest of them." I rolled my eyes and kept walking.

"I'm just kidding, but seriously, it's too dangerous out here for you to just be walking around in the dark. Let me walk you home." He said walking beside me.

"How'd you know I was walking home?" I questioned.

"Truthfully, I didn't but I think u just told me." He laughed.

"Fine. Didn't seem like you were giving up any time soon." I chuckled.

"You got that right." He added to the laughter.

We talked the whole way there.

We talked about the basics but of course I didn't tell him about my living situation.

He seemed very nice and was quite the gentleman.

I didn't see many guys like him around here.

"Okay this is it." I said pointing to a house.

"Alright. It was nice meeting you Adriana . Hopefully we'll cross paths again."

"Hopefully." I began walking up the stairs.

"Oh wait, take my number." He pulled out a pen and a little notepad.

"Just in case you need anything, I'm only a call away. Never hesitate to call." He gave me a small smile while handing me the note.

"Thank you. I will definitely call you if something comes up." I smiled back, stuffing the note in my bra.

He nodded and started walking back towards where we just came from.

I let out a small breath and walked down the stair and around the corner.

Did he really think I was going to show him where I live? Please.

As I made my way towards the building, I looked back to make sure Gabriel wasn't there.

He seemed like a really nice guy, but that didn't mean I trusted him.

I went up to my apartment quietly and into the room.

I was back home really early than usual.

I showered and brushed my teeth and headed over to the kitchen.

I scanned the cabinet until my eyes landed on my favorite chips.

Doritos.

I grabbed the bag and got in the bed next to Joaquín.

The Jerry Springer Show was on. I loved it.

I cheered right along with the crowd.

"Jerry Jerry Jerry."

As I was crunching the Doritos, I could feel Joaquín moving around.

"I think that's enough, let me put these down." I said to myself sitting the chips by the bed.

I think I'll take a day or two off work.

My vision became blurry.

Goodnig-

Zzz.
