This story traces back several months

The day when I decided to finally confront my dad.

The day I decided that I wanted to change.

"I-I'm sorry, Dad. I know it's odd that I would ask to talk to you at such a short notice."

"It's not a problem. Now, what is it you want to talk about."

"Ah, um..."

Having told Mina that I want to change myself...

I return to my home to talk to my father, but...

(I can't find the right words to say...)

"Reimako...?" said my father with a worried expression

"F-f-forgive me..."

(This won't do!)

(I can't jeep treating my father like a stranger...)

(B-but...)

I can't stop myself from shaking and my resolve is fading quickly.

The weak part of me threatens to take me back into that dark place once more.

"Um...you see..."

(W-what should I do?)

I have made up my mind to speak out but no words are coming out...)

(Is changing myself really so far out my reach?)

Then...

A vision of Mina's kind face pops into my head.

"Mina..."

This thought of the person I love gives me courage.

He isn't here with me right now, but he is there supporting me in my heart.

(I have to face this...)

(I've been running from it for all this time!)

If I can't do this then I won't be able to return to Mina's side.

I won't have the right to be beside the person who has cared more for me than anyone else.

"Dad, I..."

"I need to apologize to you."

I tell my father how I feel.

The reason why I was so distant towards him. The wounds on my heart, everything...

He hugs me at the end, and speaks to my softly.

"Thank you for telling me all of this, Rei."

"I'm sorry dad, for everything up until now..."

"There's nothing to apologize."

"I'm the one to blame, you can take your time but let's try to be close, as fathers and daughters should be."

"Okay..."

And so I was finally able to face my father properly.

(Thank you so much, Mina.)
