2012 Leo x Reader: Sweets

Leo had just recently woken up from his coma... and had been pretty down in the dumps about it ever since. He still blamed himself  for falling into that coma. He still blamed himself for crashing through that window. He hated how he had to limp around everywhere he went and being in so much pain no matter what he did. It didn't just hurt him physically, but it also hurt him emotionally. His pride as a leader had shattered into thousands of pieces, and it broke your heart beyond rational thought to see him suffer like this. So, you decided to try something to cheer him up. You were going to make something sweet for your sweetie pie. Sushi shaped cookies!

It was early in the morning when you woke up. Around dawn you wanna say. You woke up so early because you set an alarm the previous night to make sure you'd wake up as early as possible. You didn't know how long you would have the kitchen to yourself, so you hurried to get things started. You began grabbing your baking supplies and your phone. Once everything was laid out nice and ready, you grabbed your phone and began looking up a recipe. Once you found one you liked, you got started. You made the cookie dough from scratch, put it in the oven and made the decorations. Once you were satisfied with how the decorations looked, you took the cookies out of the oven and began to specialize them. Once you were done, you knew you had to hide the cookies before someone besides Leo saw them. Last thing you wanted was all your hard work to go to the wrong person.

~Timeskip~

Everyone was out an about through the farm house, and you noticed Leo was missing. You went up and tapped Raph on the shoulder. "Hey Raph? Do you know where Leo is?" Raph smirked when you asked the question and chuckled. "Awww, you miss your lame boyfriend already?" He said as he leaned back in his chair. "Hey! What did I tell you about calling Leo lame?! And he's NOT my boyfriend." "But you do like him. Come on, ya gotta admit that." "How would you know in the first place? And since WHEN do you care of whether we get together or not?!" He chuckled and looked at you with a twinkle in his eyes. "He may be annoying as shell, but he's still my lame brother. I'm not that mean." "You sure about that?" You said with a smile. "Yes you doofus. He's outside." He then went back to reading his comic book. With a satisfied huff, you hurried to your room and grabbed the box of cookies, then walked outside without anyone noticing a thing.

~With Leo~

Leo was on the swing set, swing back and forth lightly. Even doing this, his body hurt slightly. He sighed as he thought about what all has happened. He was so lost in thought that he didn't notice you until you sat on the swing next to him and spoke. "Hey Leo. How ya holding up?" He looked at you from the corner of his eye and noticed the box. he cleared his throat and pushed his head up towards the sky. "Hanging in there." He said softly. You noticed just how much pain the was in his voice, in his eyes. His eyes. His eyes were one of your favorite things about him. When he'd watch Space Heros, they'd light up like the beautiful stars. His voice was so nice and calming to you. There would always be nights you would wake up from a nightmare and call Leo up. Either he'd stay up on the phone with you, or more often than not, he'd come over and comfort you. But seeing him act so lifeless torn you in two. You sighed and handed him the box. "I know you're going through a lot Leo, but I just wanted to tell you in some way that we all still love you. You never failed us, and you never will. You aren't defined by what you do or what you are. You're defined by WHO you are, and to me, you are a wonderful person who deserves all the love in the world." He looked at you with watered eyes and took the box from you. He opened it up and gasped slightly as he saw the cookies. You looked away from him and suddenly found the dirt ground very interesting.

Leo set the box aside and got up from his swing. He kneeled in front of you and pulled your face towards him. As you looked up, Leo's lips suddenly crashed into yours. You let a slight squeak which only made Leo's heart flutter higher. You lost yourself in the moment and wrapped your arms around his neck and played with the tails of his mask. He placed his hands on your waist and leaned you closer. Eventually though, you both had to get air. You both pulled away, and you snuggled yourself into his plastron. "I love you Leonardo." He felt shivers up his spine at you saying his full name, and he chuckled. He gave you a light hug and spoke in a caring tone. "I love you too, Y/n. I love you too."
