The Final Task

A/n: strap yourselves in and grab some popcorn this one's a long one

~Tessa's POV~

I paced silently while waiting for Dumbledore to call us out. Harry stood there watching me pace.

"Tessa you're gonna make yourself sick if you keep worrying like this" he said

"HOW ARE YOU NOT WORRIED??" I yelled, causing the other champions to look at us. Cedric audibly chuckled

"Tessa. We'll be fine" he said.

"How can you be so sure?" I asked him.

"Because the professors wouldn't let us die." He said

"I'm still nervous" I said

He sighed. There was loud music coming from the stands above us

Then Dumbledore announced the champions. Harry and I followed the other champions out into the field.

I looked around as we walked. The stands were full with everyone from Hogwarts and the visitors from Beauxbatons and Drumstrang. Along with a few parents.

I looked at Draco and he gave me a thumbs up. He wore his Potter stinks button. I gave him a look and he shrugged and blew me a kiss.

I rolled my eyes and looked ahead. Ahead of us was a large hedge bush. I furrowed my brows.

"It's a maze.." Cedric mumbled to me. I bit my lip

"That's a huge maze" I mumbled back and he nodded

"Our five champions will start the maze based on their placing" Dumbledore announced

"Cedric Diggory, Harry, and Tessa Potter are tied for first place so they will start at the same time. Followed by Mr. Krum and then Miss. Delacour" he continued

Professor Moody painfully gripped mine and Harry's shoulders and steered us to one of the maze entrances

"At the sound of the cannon our champions will begin." Dumbledore announced before facing us.

"Inside this maze are many twists and turns and challenges. Men have gone mad inside the maze. If you wish to forfeit use your wand to send up red Sparks." He said in a hushed voice. He then turned to Harry and I.

"You'll need to work together more than ever here. Keep each other sane. The challenges in this maze will even be difficult for the seventh years you'll be against. Good luck to you both" he said softly, giving us a hopeful smile.

Harry nodded and I gave Dumbledore a half-hearted smile.
"Oh Miss Potter. Mr. Malfoy requested that I give this to you" he said, handing me a folded piece of paper. I looked at it curiously

I stepped away from him and unfolded it carefully.

When I unfolded it, the paper emitted small green fireworks. My eyes widened in awe. I looked at the paper

Tessa,

Here's to your victory. You've trained hard. You're ready. Don't be worried. I know you'll do amazingly. I love you so much.

Draco

His writing was neat and I could tell he meant it. I smiled softly and looked up at him. He smiled at me happily

I folded the paper and put it in my pocket and then joined Harry at the entrance of the maze.

"You ready?" He asked me

I was silent for a moment as I looked at the maze. I looked at the other champions, then Draco, then back at the maze.

There was the sound of a cannon
