~Draco's POV~

I stood away from most of the students, aside from Weasley and Granger.

It'd been quiet since Tessa left. Granger and Weasley had explained to me what she was doing.

I refused to believe them.

Suddenly, footsteps were heard.

I looked up and grimaced. The Death Eaters were emerging from the dust and fog like a bunch of evil vultures.

They dragged Hagrid with them. Hagrid held something in his hands. My father wasn't far behind him, caring something as well

It was then I realized that they were people.

My eyes widened

"Who's that Hagrid's holding?!" The girl Weasley said, "Neville who is it?"

"No.." Granger breathed next to me.

I looked at her then at my father.

I realized who it was that my father was carrying

I felt my heart stop and my legs go weak. I dropped to my knees, grasping at my chest, trying to stop the burning pain I felt

Voldemort then said the words I couldn't bear.

"Harry and Tessa Potter are dead" he announced. He laughed.

I felt tears stream down my cheeks. Someone placed a hand on my shoulder as I sobbed.

"She's dead.." I repeated over and over

"No! No!" The Weasley girl yelled

"Silence! Stupid girl" Voldemort spat, "Tessa and Harry Potter are dead. From this day forth, you put your faith... in me. The Potters are dead!"

The death eaters all laughed

"And now is the time to declare yourself." Voldemort said, "Come forward and join us. Or die."

"Draco." My father's voice split through my sobs, "Draco."

I looked up at my father, who still held Tessa's body.

"Draco..." Mother said, "Come."

I stood shakily and approached my parents.

"Draco" Granger hissed

"Ah. Well done, Draco." Voldemort said as I pushed passed him, "Well done."

I stopped in front of my parents.

"Draco" mother said, holding her arms out to me.

I looked at her then my father. I looked at Tessa's peaceful face.

I reached out and took her from my father's arms.

"Draco" my father said more sternly.

I glared at him and he seemed taken aback.

I turned away from them and walked back toward Hogwarts, my eyes never leaving Tessa's face.

She seemed smaller somehow. More tears came down my face.

"How... Disappointing" Voldemort said, "I had so much more hope for you... But somehow... I knew this would happen.."

I shot him a glare

He chuckled

Longbottom stepped forward just as Voldemort was raising his wand

He looked at Longbottom in surprise.
