Okay so we all know that Walt Disney built Disneyland because he wanted a theme park that was for the family, clean and quality. And he hated the fact of state fairs.

Until it happened...in 1996.

Disney wanted to get involved in State Fairs.

And before you ask: yes this was in the Michael Eisner era.

The Disney Fair will make its first public appearance Sept. 6 in Seattle at the Puyallup Fair. It will be moved there -- and to subsequent stops on the tour -- by a caravan of more than 100 big-rig trucks. Its 150 full-time employees -- performers, technicians and others -- and 250 to 300 locally hired technicians will put on five performances a day, seven days a week, through Sept. 22 at the major Washington fair. They'll do so in three giant tents that collectively contain more than 100,000 square feet of covered space.
