I waved my hand as he drove away. I regretted a little because I would have to walk two miles to the bus stop to go to college. It was still a wonder to me how I trusted him so much that I handed him my dad's precious gift without a second thought.
I went back to the room where he had stayed. The room wasn't as messy as I expected. Only the blanket was to be folded.
As I folded it, my eyes went to the white scarf that was apparently so special to him. I held it in my hand thinking why he forgot it if it was that special to him. A smile made its way on my face as I thought about that silly angel.
After he left, the house felt empty again. Silence filled the emptiness, and my mind wandered in memories. I didn't want to accept it, but the truth was, these few moments I spent with him were filled with happiness and joy. After such a long time, I felt like myself again. I wanted those moments to last forever.
It had only been a few minutes, but I was already missing him. Like a part of my heart had gone away from me. I didn't know how the next two days would pass.
Just then I realized what I would have asked him if I had won that bet.
