Y/N wasn't sure how to approach the subject, she knew Taehyung had been dishonest with her but she needed to know why. Where did he go? If this relationship was going to work then he needed to open up, tell her how he truly felt and what was going on.
"Where were you Taehyung? Don't spare me the details, I want to know everything even if it hurts me."
She heard the sharp intake of his breath, this was a question he knew was coming but wasn't expecting so soon.
"I was having lunch with my mother and a business associate she's been in contact with for quite some time now, they both wanted me to meet her daughter." Taehyung tightened his grip on the wheel, quickly he glanced over at Y/N to see her reaction. Her beautiful lips pulled into a straight line, brow furrowed. It killed him to see her look so hurt, knowing he was the cause.
"I had no interest in meeting with them, I went along to pacify my mother and to politely decline further involvement with the girl." Taehyung added, he wanted it to be perfectly clear that he would never be unfaithful to Y/N, he was a dick at times but one thing he wasn't was a cheat.
"Please say something baby, I can't stand the silence, it's suffocating." Taehyung pulled his eyes reluctantly back to the road, navigating the traffic as he waited nervously for her reply.
"Was she beautiful?" Y/N questioned, there was slight tremor to her voice as if she was afraid to hear the answer.
Taehyung could lie and say no, he knew that would be the answer she would probably want to hear but he promised not to be dishonest with her and so he spoke the truth.
"Yes, she was."
It broke his heart to tell her this, he knew it would upset her and that she would worry she wasn't good enough for him but he didn't want more lies between them, Y/N asked for nothing but honesty and that's what he was going to give her.
"I see." He glanced over, immediately noticing the way her bottom lip trembled before she composed herself and played with a loose thread of her dress.
She looked incredible, didn't she understand that it didn't matter how beautiful other women were....he didn't want them.
"Stop that Y/N, stop putting yourself down. I hate it when you think you're inferior to other women, yes she was beautiful but that doesn't mean I desired her. It simply means I could appreciate she's attractive, I'm never going to act on it because she's not the one I want. I want you, I'm here with you because for once in my life I want to make something work. If you want to know what happened at the dinner then listen closely, I told my mother I wasn't interested in whatever arrangement she was planning. I told her about you, that I was with you and happy. I shouldn't have lied to you, it was wrong of me but I wanted to spare you feelings."
"I would rather you tell me the truth." Y/N grumbled which made him chuckle.
"I'm here confessing my feelings for you, telling you that I've finally told my mother about us and that's all you have to say." Taehyung chuckled, gently reaching over he took her hand and squeezed gently.
"I'm sorry, you're right....I shouldn't have lied and I promise you that it'll never happen again. I hope you can forgive me, I'll do anything baby." He kissed her knuckles, wanting desperately to stop the car so he could claim her lips.
"I forgive you for the dinner but I still want the truth Taehyung, about everything. I want to know you, I want to know about your family and your past no matter how bad you think it is. It won't push me away, I promise you that I'm not going anywhere so long as you just open up and let me in."
Taehyung had never felt like this before, he knew the moment he met this incredible woman his life would never be the same. Y/N did something to him that no woman before her had even come close to doing, she made him want to reveal everything and even though he was afraid of losing her he knew this was something he had to do.
"I promise that during our trip whatever questions you've got I'll answer honestly, just please be patient with me because I've never done anything like this before."
Taehyung was surprised when Y/N moved his hand to her lips, gently placing kisses across the back of it. His heart raced, eyes momentarily entranced by her beauty and the softness of those mesmerising lips.
"Your mother doesn't approve of me does she?"
Taehyung was caught off guard by her question, it was true that she didn't and that was evident from the message she sent him after he left the restaurant.
Should he tell Y/N about that?
Yes, he couldn't keep something like that from her after they both promised nothing but honesty during this trip.
"No, my mother is a vile woman who rarely approves of my choices in life. I don't want you to give a second thought to her though, it doesn't matter what she does my mind won't ever change. I want you, I want us."
Taehyung felt Y/N shift beside him, he glanced over to see her perfect features scrunched up in worry.
"What will she do? What did she say to you?"
Taehyung sighed, he didn't want to ruin their trip away together but also knew he couldn't keep something like this hidden from her.
"She promised to make things difficult for us, it's what my mother does when things don't go her way but please don't worry baby. I won't let her hurt you, I won't ever let her come between us."
Y/N felt her heart drop, she wanted to make this work as much as Taehyung did but with his mother meddling in their relationship would the two of them survive?
