"I want my business meeting tomorrow rearranged for next week, there's too much going on over the next few days for me to entertain the likes of councillor Gwan and his insufferable wife." Mrs Kim strides through the foyer of her estate with purpose, jacket draped across her shoulders and long bejeweled fingers curling protectively around a Prada clutch as she reels off instructions to Deok-su.
"Consider it done."
"I also need to buy a gift for my husband, it's our anniversary soon."
"Is there a gift in particular you want to get him?
"Get him a watch, engrave the date of our wedding on the back. I'm sure that will suffice, no need to overdo it."
"Of course."
They reach the study, Mrs Kim dropping her jacket and clutch on the couch as she passes.
"I also hope you have news for me on the charity case my son is so adamant on having in his life, it's been a day already and I'm growing impatient." The older woman sits down behind her desk, painted nails drumming along the mahogany.
Deok-su smiles as he strides over, sliding a manila folder across to his boss.
"My son seems to be infatuated." Mrs Kim sneers as she studies the first page.
"Purchasing property, saving his little damsel in distress from losing her job." The older woman scoffs. "If you can even call working in a coffeehouse a job."
Deok-su settles on the couch as his boss continues to peruse the information he managed to collect, her eyes growing darker the more she discovers.
"I will not be made a fool of, nobody especially some charity case is going to ruin the name of this family. I want you to find a way to bring this latest endeavour of my darling son down, play dirty if you must but make sure it doesn't link back to us or you will suffer the consequences. We start by taking the coffeehouse down, then if he still insists to keep seeing the girl we take the next step."
"The next step?" Deok-su asks as he notes everything down on his phone.
"I will pay her a visit, see just how loyal she is to my son. I know women like her, all they need is the promise of money and suddenly their love isn't quite as strong as it was before."
"If that doesn't work?" Deok-su dares to ask, shrinking back a little when the older woman sends him a scathing look.
"Then I go after the people she cares about, force her out of Taehyung's life. My son should know by now that nobody challenges me and makes it out unscathed, he started this so he only has himself to blame. Now get out, ask one of staff to prepare me tea before you leave."
"Of course, have a good evening." Deok-su bows before departing.
"So ungrateful." Mrs Kim mutters to herself as she leans back.
It sickens her to think that after all the years she's cared for her son this is how he repays her.
Does he not see how it will bring shame upon their family? That this could destroy all they've worked for over the years, could potentially lose them funding and future business partners.
There's absolutely no chance she's going to allow some nobody to come along and tarnish all they've worked so hard to achieve, she doesn't want to play dirty but if she's left with no other option then so be it.
The older woman knows that by doing this she will only alienate herself from Taehyung, that his hatred for her will continue to grow but sometimes a mother needs to do what others won't as when it's all said and done....a mother knows best.
((This is a much shorter chapter, basically wanted you guys to see what'shappeningwith Mrs Kim and how she'sgoing to attempt to breakour Tae and Y/N apart....will she be successful? I guess we will find out 👀 the next chapter will focus back on Y/N and Taehyung in the cabin, some fluff and maybe more 👀 before they have to return home.
