Taehyung.
The large bay window cast a checker board of brilliant noon sunlight onto the dark walnut floor, as the afternoon gave way to early evening Taehyung watched the stubby squares elongate to faded rectangles.
What was his mother thinking?
What was she planning?
During the entire four hour drive Taehyung had been left alone with his thoughts, Y/N succumbing to sleep shortly after they set off which was probably for the best as he needed time to process his mother's threat.
Taehyung was used to his mother attempting to control his life, he was simply a pawn for her to use at will but he always refused to play that role.
He was more than that.
He was better than that.
It didn't matter what she threatened him with before, he made his own money and so she had little hold, little sway over him so to speak but now things had changed.
Y/N was involved now.
If his mother decided to get vicious, like she often did when things didn't go her way then people could get hurt, lives upturned and destroyed and he would never forgive himself if that happened but he also wasn't willing to give up and walk away.
Y/N was a breath of fresh air, a light in his otherwise dark world and he wasn't prepared to lose that.
Once they arrived at the cabin Taehyung had pulled up beside the porch, a sleepy Y/N very adorably pouting as she stretched.
"Why are we stopping?"
"I stopped because we just got here, you slept the whole way." Taehyung chuckled, pressing a kiss to Y/N's cheek when she started to apologise for passing out on him the entire journey.
"Baby it's okay, you were tired and needed the rest."
That still didn't stop her from continuing to apologise as Taehyung helped her out of the car.
"Stop." He smirked, opting instead to silence her with a heated kiss which seemed to do the trick when she flushed and immediately fell silent.
"I'll show you around the cabin first, let you get used to the layout and explain things to you as we go, sound good?"
"Yeah, sounds good." Y/N breathed out, still recovering from the kiss.
"I'll bring the bags in later, tour first."
Y/N gave a nod, smiling as she felt Taehyung take her hand and entwine their fingers.
"There's four steps that lead to the porch, the porch itself wraps around the entire cabin and there're steps at the rear too which lead to the lake. I like to sit out there often, it's peaceful and the water relaxes me." He takes his time, waiting for Y/N to feel her way around the exterior of the cabin, there's no rush and he loves to watch the way she explores.
