"Okay, next we need two eggs." I said reading the recipe.
"I got it." Jin said cracking the eggs into the mixture.
"Now it says to mix it together."
"Mhm."
Jin started mixing the batter while I chopped strawberries.

Jin and I are best friends and we both take cooking classes at college together. We've both always enjoyed cooking so we decided to go to college together and major in the culinary field.

Today in class we were making yellow cake with strawberries and whipped cream on top. I watched Jin pour the cake batter into the pan and place it in the oven. I had just finished cutting up the strawberries and placed them in a bowl before sprinkling some sugar over the top.

"Mmm!" Jin leaned over my shoulder and watched as I mixed the sugar with the strawberries.
"You want some?" I asked.
He nodded eagerly.
I got a spoonful of the chopped strawberries and fed it to him.
"Delicious!"

I set the spoon in the sink and put the bowl of strawberries in the fridge to keep them cool.

"Now we wait." I said walking over to Jin.
"Yep." He sighed and leaned against the counter.
"I feel like I'm dragging you down." I said.
"Why?"
"You're the best cook in this whole class. Don't you think you'd be better off doing this assignment by yourself?"
"No." He said. "Because without you, this would have been much harder to accomplish." He turned towards me. "I don't want you saying things like that about yourself, that you're dragging me down. If anything Y/n, you lift me up."
"I do?" I asked, my heart fluttering.
"Yes."

I've had a crush on Jin since high school. Yes he's handsome but he's much more than just a pretty face. He's super sweet and really funny. Some of his dad jokes are pretty terrible but nonetheless funny. It's actually one of the things I love the most about him.

We only made a small cake since Jin and I would be the only ones eating it, so it was finished baking in no time.
Jin carefully took the delicious dessert out of the oven.

"Ahh I want to eat it right now, but it's too hot."
"You have to be patient Y/n." Jin teased.
"I know." I groaned.

When the cake was finally cooled off I got the strawberries out of the fridge along with the whipped cream.

Jin and I spread the whipped cream all over the cake before spooning the sugary strawberries all over it. We set our cake on the prep table and waited for our teacher to walk over.

"This is beautiful you two." Mr. Lee smiled.
"Thank you sir." Jin and I said.
"You two always impress me. Whenever we have a group assignment I know I'll always get something spectacular from the two of you."
"Wow thank you so much Mr. Lee." I grinned.
"You two deserve all the praise."

The teacher walked over to the next group.

"Wow." Jin gaped.
"Yeah, wow. Okay let's eat it!"
Jin chuckled and got out two forks.

The next day in class we were back to working by ourselves. Today's objective was to make a small dessert you could eat in a few bites, like a cupcake. I decided to make mini cheesecake bites. I've been trying to figure out a way to confess to Jin and maybe I could start leaving little treats for him. I'm not worried about being caught because whenever Jin is cooking on his own he's laser focused and doesn't pay much attention to whoever is around him.

I immediately get to work and start mixing together the cheesecake mix. I pour the thick mixture into a pie shell and place it in the fridge. After a few minutes the mixture was hardened. I pulled it out of the fridge and used a circular cookie cutter and started pressing it into the cheesecake making tiny round cheesecake bites. I topped each of them off with a raspberry.
Mr. Lee came around and evaluated my little treats.
