Namjoon's POV

I watched as she walked on the beach, the waves splashing against her legs causing her to squeal. I let out a chuckle. I've been watching her for a while. I've even developed feelings for her. Her name is Y/n. She comes out to the beach often. She lives in a cute little house right on the beach. She likes to come out here and watch the sunset almost every night.

"Y/n!" I hear someone shout.

I see a guy farther out in the water not far behind Y/n. It's that stupid friend of hers.

"Look what I found!" He lifted up a tiny shell.
It's nothing special. I can tell he's trying to impress her. He's doing an awful job. I could find a shell much better than that one he's got.
"It's kind of plain looking."
"Oh, okay." He says and drops the shell back into the water. "Why don't we go sit on the rocks over there?" He points to a nearby cluster of rocks.
"Okay."

She follows him over to one of the rocks. They sit down next to each other. I don't trust this guy one bit. I watch them as they talk and goof off. After a while I notice him scooting closer to her. She looks a little uncomfortable. His hand slowly creeps onto her leg, she moves away and I can clearly hear her say: "Stop." He doesn't listen and continues to feel her up and try to undress her. I decide I should interfere. I grab my slingshot and grab a small rock aiming it at the guy's back. I let go and watch the rock hit him.

"Ow! Who did that?" He looks around, but I'm hidden too well.

When he turns away I swim closer and start pelting him with more rocks. Y/n took the opportunity to back off. She seemed to figure out where the rocks were coming from. She looked over at me, a smile on her face as she watched me pelt her friend with rocks. He finally stood up and ran off.

Y/n looked at me and motioned for me to come over.

Should I do it?
Whatever.

I swim over to her.

"You saved me." She grinned.
"He was trying to take advantage of you."
"Do you want to sit?" She asked.
"Sure."

I took a seat next to her on the rock. Her eyes widened when she saw my tail.

Your POV

I looked down at his tail.

"You're a-"
"Merman. Yeah I know."
"Your tail is beautiful."
"Oh." He blushed a little. "Thank you."

I looked away shyly. This guy is really cute.

"I'm Namjoon."
"I'm Y/n."
"Nice to meet you." He smiled showing off the cutest dimples.

Ever since then Namjoon and I have met with each other twice a week. We've been doing this for a couple months now and I've really gotten to know him better. I've even developed a teeny tiny crush... okay maybe it's a big crush.

I headed down to our meeting spot and waited for him. I saw someone swimming towards the rock thinking it was Namjoon. When they came up out of the water I saw it wasn't Namjoon, it was a mermaid.

"I saw you talking to Namjoon the other day."
"Yes, what about it?"
"Namjoon is mine, okay? Back off."
"Why should I?" I asked.

She reached out and grabbed my leg, almost pulling me into the water.

"If you don't stop talking to him, I'll drown you." She said threateningly.

I jerked my leg away and ran off. I could wait until she leaves and go back to wait for Namjoon, but I feel a little scared of her.
