Drenched

Completely drenched.

She'd been out for just fifteen minutes and this had happened.

Her hair and clothes stuck to her like a second skin and even as the shivers went down her spine, she couldn't believe what had really happened.

Her Dad was taking forever to get her a towel because in his words, there was no way he was letting her into the living room looking like the Little Mermaid fresh out of water.

-----------------------------------------------------

Flashback.

He'd texted her earlier today.

She'd been so excited.

The last time they'd met she'd kind of acted all weird.

At least that's what he said.

He wanted to meet up.

She been avoiding him.

There's been no school today seeing it was a Sunday and she'd actually been looking forward to seeing him until she got that other text.

"We'll be there in twenty " - TP.

Gosh!.

How could she have forgotten?

Jay and Thellie were coming over.

They'd planned the whole thing yesterday.

Guess it'd slipped her mind.

That's what you get for neglecting to use your brain.

Which is what she did 90 percent of the time.

She had two choices now :

1. She could cancel with Jay and Thellie.

2. She could cancel with him.

Or she could just tell Jay and she wouldn't have to do either.

No wait, that'd be three.

This was going to be hard.

She'd already agreed to meet him too.

In thirty minutes.

She needed to tell Thellie.

No.

Bad idea.

The devil wanted her to confess and she really wasn't ready to do that.

Why?

She really didn't know.

But maybe she did.

Maybe she was just scared to admit it to herself.

This was how she kept on thinking about nothing helpful when the doorbell rang and she jumped out of the sofa almost giving herself a heart attack.

She looked at her phone and frowned.

She walked to the door and opened it with the frowned still plastered on her face.

Unfazed, they both just pushed past her into the house.

She slammed the door shut and just stood there crossed armed as Jay and Thellie made their way and occupied the sofa she'd just left.
