Everything ...

It'd been six days.

Six days since that day.

That party.

Kayla rolled on her side and sighed defeatedly.

Jay had been avoiding her ever since that party.

To be honest,it had absolutely nothing to do with the party.

If nothing at all, she'd ruined it for everyone.

Give it to her to turn a celebration into a pity party.

Six days, and she'd been going through each and every one of it in the most robotic way ever possible.

Thellie and the other guys tried to cheer her up and get her out of the she'll she'd coiled into, but just like her,it was a hopeless cause.

Her Dad had tried to find out what was wrong, but she locked herself in her room and wouldn't let him either.

Jay had practically acted like she didn't exist, and even though she knew she'd messed up,it all just felt too much.

They never fought this long.

The most painful part was that he lived just next door, but he wouldn't even see her.

He wouldn't even let her talk.

Except,this wasn't even fighting.

It felt final.

Like everything has been decided.

Flashback

( Thellie's Party ).

" He's my best friend Jay. My other best friend ",she croaked.

There it was.

All out in the open.

Now there was nothing to do.

All except to watch.

At first nothing happened.

He just stood there looking at her.

She looked back at him,,knowing any moment from now,it would happen.

What exactly will happen, she had no idea.

But she knew it wasn't going to be good.

And then she saw it.

The very moment when the change took place.

When everything shifted.

When her words registered in his brain.

He didn't talk.

He didn't move.

But that was the problem.

Jay didn't look like Jay.

He looked different.

An expression she'd never seen before swallowed his features and for a second, there was a flicker of emotion in his eyes.

An emotion she'd never seen before.

But before she could put her hands on it,it was gone.

Then another unexpected thing happened.

She'd thought over the various possibilities of how he'd react to all this, but what he did next wasn't one of them.
