Chapter song: Running - James Bay

Tony's POV

I was at the Avengers tower, along with everyone else, when my phone began buzzing in my pocket. I pulled it out, thinking it was just another spam message, but was surprised to see Peter's contact pop up.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Mr. Stark," He was out of breath.

"Kid, what happened? What's wrong?"

"It's Victoria—"

"What happened to Victoria?" I stood up, and everyone's eyes were on me now.

"Some kids at school beat her up, she was hurt pretty bad so I brought her to the hospital."

"Oh my God, I'm on my way!" I grabbed my jacket from the chair. "Wait, how did you get there?"

"I stole a truck."

I sighed. "Okay we'll deal with that later. I'll be there in five minutes."

"What's going on?" Steve asked worriedly.

"Victoria got beat up at school, Peter brought her to the hospital. The kid stole a friggin' truck." I slipped my coat on and placed my sunglasses over my eyes.

"I'm coming with you." He said, following me out the door quickly.

I knew I was speeding as I drove to the hospital, but it didn't matter in the moment. My tires screeched as I swung into the parking lot and parked crookedly, I ripped the keys out of the ignition. Steve and I both sprinted through the front doors, the bright white lights taking over our vision.

I breathed deeply, catching my breath. "Where is she?"

The nurse behind the desk pointed down a hall. "Room 164."

Steve and I jogged along the room numbers, rushing inside when we reached Victoria's. Peter looked up from his position in a chair next to the bed, and Victoria laid sleeping with a bandage wrapped around her chest and some scratches on his face, along with the previous cut from our fight with Loki. I sighed frustratedly and walked to her side, I ran my hand across her hair and forehead.

"I'm gonna kill those bastards

"I'm gonna kill those bastards." I muttered.

Footsteps entering the room caught our attention and I spun around to see a nurse holding a clipboard. She smiled sadly.

"How bad is it? Is she going to be alright?"

"She will be okay—"

"Thank God." I breathed.

"But..." she caught my attention again. "She has a broken rib and some bruises on her other ribs. She also had some internal bleeding which caused a lot of blood loss. We're still looking for a suitable blood donor for—"
