I busted into the auditorium out of breath and everyone, in costume, turned to look in my direction. I smiled awkwardly and quickly padded to the stage. Mister Williams had me change into my Belle dress and we ran through the entire play for what felt like the 1000th time. I was more than ready to perform it for real, even though the butterflies in my stomach told me otherwise.

We were finally at one of the final parts of the play, the part where the Beast, played by a boy named Carlos, transformed back into his human form and we kissed. I was nervous the first time we had to kiss, especially in front of everyone, but we'd done it so many times now that it became routine.

Carlos was an interesting character, he was a couple years older than me, 15 to be exact, and had silver hair that faded to black at the roots. He was a quiet and timid guy, but he didn't let anyone see that and tended to put on a tough guy appearance by distancing himself from everyone. His backstory was a mystery to me despite knowing him for a couple months.

(If you couldn't already tell, Carlos is based off of Carlos De Vil from Descendants. He was played by Cameron Boyce who recently passed away. Rest In Peace❣️)

We finished the final scene, the last dance, and Mister Williams applauded us as we relaxed and began piling off the stage.

"Nicely done everyone! Don't forget, tonight is the pre-show! All parents and relatives are welcome to come and watch." Mister Williams said.

"You were really great, Victoria." Carlos came up behind me as I headed to the bathroom to change. I spun around and faced him.

"Thanks, Carlos. So were you." I grinned.

He blushed slightly but lowered his head to hide it from me. "Uh, I was wondering if you wanted to grab lunch with me."

I peered at the clock on the wall behind him and realized it was lunch time. I usually always ate lunch with Peter, but I didn't want to turn Carlos down. I nodded and we agreed tp meet at the back doors in 10 minutes.

Once I had taken off my dress and packed it away in my bag, I pulled out my phone and began texting Peter.

'Hey, would you be alright if I went to lunch with a friend today? I was invited and didn't want to say no.'

It didn't take long for him to answer.

'No problem! Have fun chicken wing.'

I smiled and shoved my phone into my back pants pocket. I felt bad for leaving Peter when we always ate lunch together, but I knew he had other friends to hang out with.

I fixed my hair and headed to the back doors of the school, where Carlos was already waiting for me. He looked up from his phone where his fingers were typing rapidly and shot me a smile. He didn't smile often, so it made me feel special in a way.

"Ready to go?" He asked and I nodded.

He opened the door for me and I thanked him. I followed him and, soon, we arrived at a beautiful red Ferrari. He began getting in the driver's seat and turned to look at me questioningly.

"You comin' or what?" He chuckled.

"You have your license?" I asked.

"No I steal cars for a living." I looked at him wide-eyed and he began laughing. "I'm just kidding! Yes I have my license. Now get in!"

I shot him a glare and hopped over to the passenger side, carefully opening the expensive car's door and sliding inside. It was spotless inside and smelled like a brand new car, which made me believe even more that he'd actually stolen it.

The rev of the engine made me jump and Carlos laughed at me again. He pulled out of the school parking lot and began driving in the opposite direction of any of the closest restaurants. I turned in my seat and looked back, then turned back to him.

"Where are we going?"

"Thought you might wanna go the long way so I can show you what this car can do." He smirked.

I was nervous, but excited at the same time. We arrived at a long road with barely any cars on it and Carlos began picking up speed. He pressed a button and the roof retracted back, allowing the wind to blow through our hair. I smiled huge at him and he looked at me fondly, he always seem to enjoy seeing me happy, which I appreciated.

I had almost completely forgotten about lunch before we arrived at a Burger King. Carlos was nice enough to pay for my lunch, even though I didn't want him to.

.....

After school, I was walking to my bus when a bright red Ferrari pulled up next to me. I looked to see a familiar silver-haired boy wearing sunglasses, with his arm hanging out of the car. I giggled and crossed my arms, walking over to him.

"Need a ride?"

I was going to say no, because I knew if I got home late Tony would not be happy. But, as usual, the little devil on my shoulder got the best of me and I hopped into the car once again. Carlos went the long way again and dropped me off an hour later than the bus would have. He pulled into the long driveway.

"Holy crap, rich kid." He joked, staring at the house. I just laughed in response, though, that faded quickly when I saw Tony standing outside the front door.

"Shit." I muttered.

Carlos pulled up to the front of the house, the loud motor still revving behind us and Tony looked at me with wide eyes, crossing his arms. I smiled nervously and looked at Carlos.

"Thanks for the ride, see you tonight." I whispered and quickly stepped out. Carlos didn't waste any time speeding out of the driveway, and I didn't blame him. I turned around slowly and was met with Tony's annoyed face.

"Hello father." I smiled.

"Who the hell was that?!" He motioned to the street with his arm.

"A friend, he offered to drive me home."

"An hour late?"

Chill! It's only 4:00."

"You could have at least texted. I've been sitting here for forty minutes worried sick about you." He pulled out his phone and began typing quickly.

"What are you doing?"

"Cancelling the helicopters."

My eyes widened and there was a moment of silence as he continued to type with his eyebrows furrowed.

"You're right. I'm sorry."

"Don't give me— wait, what?"

"You're right I should have texted or called you." I repeated myself.

"I'm right? I mean, I know I'm right but you're agreeing with me? Who are you and what have you done with Victoria?"

I laughed and we headed inside. I was relieved this didn't turn into a fight, because I wouldn't want him mad at me when he comes to see our pre-show tonight.
