Winter was cold and unpleasant out there, when they left the restaurant, they felt like the bitter fingers of death were crawling to their bodies. The moon was hiding behind the gloomy dark clouds but that didn’t stop it from casting its spell on the young people who were all joy and laughter. It was a little late but the streets of Shadehaven were busy with  merry crowds and cheerful shoppers. Christmas was tomorrow and everyone was enjoying the joyful streets of the town were filled with lighters and decorations. It was a tradition for the people here to decorate every inch of the city. It brought serenity to their hearts. The wind blew through Liraz’ dark red hair, making her tremble. Ace was still laughing so hard tears were falling down his cheeks

-“ Did you see that old lady? Epic”

-“ Yes.. She was .. She was so happy telling.. me to say.. yes” Liraz said between laughs

-“ That was crazy” He calmed his breathing, offering his hand. “ Mrs. Owens?”

-“ Dear husband?” she mimicked his playful tone, holding his hand. Turning to the car, Liraz’ laughter slowly died.

-“ Now they will go congratulate my parents” Ace kept joking “ And they will fre-.. Liraz? What’s wrong?” He looked at her worried. “ You look like ..” he turned to look where she was looking. “ Oh crap..”

-“ Wait here” she snapped before something held her in place. “ Let go Geek.” She warned

-“ Liraz I don-”

-“ I don’t give a dam” she interrupted, slapping his hand away. “ Wait here” She walked towards the couple, ignoring Ace’s calls. “ Having a good time?” she spat bitterly.

-“ Hello, Li-”

-“ Don’t say my fucking name” She fired words like bullets. “ What the hell are you doing here, Ottets?” She asked her father. The irritated look on her father’s face was immediately replaced by pure anger. It would take one simple glance at both of them to know they were related. The anger, the attitude and coldness was so striking, the air felt suffocating. Ace joined the three people. Standing behind Liraz, he watched quietly the fires burning inside their eyes. His look was warning, alarming. Hers was cold, defying.

-“ I told you, do NOT call me that” he warned, firmly

-“ Why ottets? Does it remind you of something? Of someone? Oh maybe it reminds you of the goddamn 17 years of your miserable life, you know the one you lived next to my mo-”

-“ You better shut your fucking mouth young lady” he threatened through gritted teeth

-“ Fuck you”

-“ Liraz, that’s not-”

-“ Stay out of it Trish. I am so not in the mood to-”

-“ Watch your tongue, young lady”
