Emily's PoV

I blink slowly, my vision blurring slightly before sharpening just as fast.

I glance around at the environment around me, furrowing my eyebrows when I notice lots of medical equipment. Frowning, I quickly sit up to try and find Jasper.

Cold hands appear on my forearms, as I shake my head in confusion, looking up.

"Carlisle..." I murmur, rubbing my left eye, "What's going on?"

He gently holds my hand, "Calm down...Emily, I need to tell you something important."

I nod softly.

"It's highly impossible in our kind, but, for some reason it may be possible in your situation," he explains.

I scrunch up my eyebrows, "I don't know what you're talking about, Carlisle."

He sighs, standing up grabbing his clipboard and a pen.

"Have you been experiencing any sickness, mainly in the morning?" He asks.

I shrug, "I think so, although I did assume that was because of my gift."

"What about your hunger, has that increased over the last week or so?"

I sit there contemplating before nodding my head reluctantly, "I've been craving human blood recently, but I'm sure that is due to my transition."

"Right and did you and Jasper...um...well you know...be intimate with each other??"

I bite my lip surpressing my smile at Carlisle's attempt to not be awkward, "Yes, we have."

He nods scribbling down my answer. I fiddle with my fingers thinking about what he's asking me, morning sickness... intimacy...Jasper.

My eyes widen, as I look up at him in shock, "Are insinuating that I'm pregnant?"

He nods in response, "I don't know how, but, again it must have something to do with your gift."

"But...but...vampires can't procreate," I mumble.

He places his clipboard down, looking me in the eyes, "Emily, I know this is a lot to take in...however, it seems to be the only explanation to your symptoms."

"I don't understand..." I say in denial.

"You're showing all the sign of pregnancy, except it all seems to be heightened," Carlisle informs me.
