~Zavian's POV~

When I close the behind me, I immediately wish I either wasn't leaving or never left. Atticus stands in front of me, looking just as shocked to see me here as I am him. The man looks exhausted, but I can't find it in myself to care. Somehow I'm the fuck up.
"What were you doing here?" He asks, brows pulled together. The last thing I need is for him to ruin my unexpected plan for the night. If he goes in there and sees Marissa is fucked up he's gonna try taking action. They won't find Vector me, I already had his address, but once they're unable to find him all the points will lead to me. He won't cover for me, he'll be the one to point them in my direction.
"Came to see the girls," I say. "Both are fine. We can both leave now. Prisa, Hermano." I try pushing him with me but he stands like a wall. Fine, be a little bitch, but you aren't ruining my fun. "Marissa got her ass beat by some moron, so now I'm killing him."
"Excuse me?" He asks, his body seeming to somehow tense further. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut? I've never been good at that. "You aren't killing anyone."
"Sorry, do I need to use another word? I'm going to take him out. Execute him. Decapitate him. Better?" He rolls his head back, closing his eyes. How is me wanting to kill the guy who beat my baby sister wrong? Shouldn't he be contemplating doing the same exact thing?
"We can repor-"
"Sorry, Copper, but your little cop friends don't give a shit about if some girl got abused once. If I don't do something, he's just be about to walk the streets again in few weeks," I say, trying to contain my anger. I've always hated how he tries to be better than me. He is, in most ways, but I'm smarter. "You can either come, or stay with Marissa until I get back."
"Why would you come back?"
"To give her his head, why the fuck else?" I say, my shoulders slumping. I just want to leave already. "Either come and stay in the car, nothing happened if you didn't see it, or stay." There's a moment of thick silence between us.
"Nothing happened if I didn't see it."
•••••

Big baby didn't want to stay in the car until I went into detail of what I plan to do. Our first location, the guys house, had no one there, so my second best guess of where he'd be was at the house party. If any of them knew I had a cop in my car they'd kill me.
"Is there a Vector, here?" I ask Alaric when I find him. Castel and Santi are standing in a near corner, sneaking glances over at us, probably wondering what we're talking about.
"Rosado?" I nod. He looks over at Castel while shrugging. The two of them walk over, both looking suspicious. "Is Vector here?"
"Yeah, he just went out back," Santi says. "Got here a few minutes ago, why?" It doesn't take long for me to turn around and rush down the stairs, nearly tripping over beer bottles and red solo cups. The crowd in the living room is bigger than it was an hour ago, but I manage to push my way through the drunk dancers. I probably reek of Jack Daniels from bumping into people.
Before I can open the screen door, a hand claps down on my shoulder to stop me. My eyes widen, thinking that Atticus decided to be an asshole again. Castel is the one whose stopping me though, his stare hard. I don't work for him, so technically I could just walk out and kill the douchebag, but that will only cause unnecessary problems. We do business together, there's no point for us to loose that partnership.
"What are planning to do?" He asks, keeping his voice calm. His voice and face rad two totally different emotions. On one hand you would think he's ready to kill, but on the other, he wants to give you a hug. Alaric hogs up to us, looking far to excited and he doesn't even know what's going down.
"He beat the hell out of my sister," I say. "I'm not gonna let it slide." He looks back at Santi who just shrugs, leaning against the counter. When Castel doesn't make any further comments I waste no time pulling the sliding door open and walking out. Only a few guys are standing out here, smoke going up in the air around them.
"Philip, Kelvin, inside," Castel orders the other two. They side eye each other before looking at their friend who is in obvious trouble. He props his foot up against the back, leaning his back against it. "Want us to hold him down?"
"Yeah, I'll make it quick." Santi and Castel nod, making their way to Vector, who is too fucked up on...something to react to what's happening. There's only a little struggle when Castel grabs his arms, keeping them at his back. Santi kicks the back of his knees so they buck, getting him to the ground. He stares up at the sky, still not aware of what's going on. Less fun for me, but better for him and the neighbors.
Alaric takes a long, mental object out of his sock and hands it to me. The silver metal is cut sharp and thick. The sharp, uneven, point that it meets us lets me know that it's handcrafted. "Where'd you get this?" Impressed by the work that had to have been put in. He smiles proudly.
"I'm good with my hands." I brush off the inappropriate joke and walk over to the guy, squatting down. I press the point to the side of his neck, my eyes directed on how much pressure I'm applying. I look up at Santi. "Maybe we should gag him? That way the cops don't get called if he screams."
He nods. Alaric takes out a bandana in his back pocket and bends down, stuffing it into the guys mouth. I star gliding the blade across his throw, making it slow. His eyes slowly open, mouth falling open as much as it can with being stuffed. Blood pools out of his cracked skin, ruining the white t-shirt he's wearing.
Cut off gasps leave his mouth as I get up and Castel gets up. Blood covers the majority of my hand. Alaric takes the blade back. "I'm gonna go clean this," he says.
"We apologize for what he caused your sister," Santi tells me. I shrug, not sure what to say. Everything is done and over with now, he's dead; there's nothing more to worry about. "Is it okay if I ask you a...question?" It doesn't sound he was searching for the right word, more like he was deciding if he should say it. "Are you seeing my daughter? Like...romantically."
"Yes, sir," I tell him. He nods, not seeming to care too much.
"Don't hurt her," he warns me. "Also, Alaric will take care of the body," he says. I just nod as a reply to both things he said, remembering that I have Atticus in the car. It's the smartest thing when there are probably people in the front yard.
"I got to go," I tell them. Castel waves me off, whereas Santi doesn't say another word. I wash my hands quickly, getting the majority of blood off my hands, except for the few areas where it sunk into the cracks of my hand. Just like expected, there are people in the front yard.
Few people wave at me as I run across the street and get in the car. Atticus looks at me, looking bored as hell with his arms crossed. "Do I drop you off now?" I ask.
"Did you really just kill someone?" He asks. I nod, not seeing a problem with it. Well, obviously I see a issue with murder, but not in this case. There are few who deserve to die, and very few who deserve not to.
"Yes. Did you really think I was going to drive all the way to his house, then here, and not kill him?" He shrugs. "Of course, I did." I swear, I'm probably the only person who had enough balls to say that to a cop, brother or not. "So, back to my question. Am I dropping you off now?"
"No, go to the dorms. I want to see Marissa still and I can drive myself back," he says. It's not a good idea for him to see her. He's protective, even though he won't do shit, he just yells. Marissa looked like she was going to throw up when I was yelling at her, she's going to now if he goes in there. However, if I tell him anything, he's not going to listen.
"Fine," I say, starting to drive down the road. Hopefully, Alaric does a good job at hiding the body. The ride is quiet for the most part other than wind blowing in through the window that's cracked open and low music from the radio. I feel calm, there's no more problems, but he's making me feel like I should be worried about something.
"Any plans for tomorrow?" I ask, trying to break the awkward silence. We're almost close to the dorms, but we're also too far to not talk anymore. Any longer and my ears would start ringing.
"Seeing someone for dinner," he says. My eyes widen. He's moved on from
Bex that fast? What a complete asshole.
"Seeing someone already?" I ask. He shrugs, not saying much. I guess it's not different from Bex seeing me soon after their breakup. The main difference is that I know she's still hurting deep down from him hurting her. She's not going to let me in soon, I'm gonna have to be patient, but with him it's a different story. He's in control of what he does.
"Not a date, just dinner," he says. I don't make any further comments, deciding that dropping it is the best option. "Are you seeing someone?" I press my lips together, keeping in a laugh. There's no harm in telling him Bex and I are a thing if he's already making plans with some new broad. It's not malicious, just answering a question. I couldn't care less about his opinion on our relationship; if he has a problem with it, that's a personal problem.
"Yeah, actually," I say. His brows raise in surprise. "Bex, actually. We made it official tonight." If he were drinking or eating something, he would have choked. His caught him fit makes me laugh. "What?"
"Are you fucking serious?" I pull into the parking lot, happy I won't have to stay in here for too long after telling him. "She's my ex."
"Yeah, and? It's your fault she's your ex, not mine." In his mind, it probably is my fault.
"There's no way you're serious," he says. I roll my eyes. "Take her out to dinner then tomorrow night. It can be a double date with mine." I shrug, finding no trouble in this; maybe telling Bex, but that's it.
"Okay." We make our way inside, it suddenly being far too hot for jackets. Once at the end of the hall, I can hear loud crying. I knock loudly on the door incase one of them doesn't want us coming in. The door unlocks, but the door doesn't open all the way; instead, Bex just peeks her head out to see who it is. Her green eyes widen when she seeing Atticus behind me, her cheeks turning red.
"Sorry," She says, pushing the door further open and walking inside. Marissa is now in pajamas five sizes too big for her, curling up in a ball on her bed. Her face is soaked with tears, mascara smudged under her eyes. Her small hands shake a her chest, taking deep breaths. Atticus kneels down next to her, whispering something that I can't hear.
"Were you able to do it?" Bex asks, now standing at my side. I nod staying quiet. I take her hand and lead her outside the room, keeping the door cracked open. "What's wrong? He didn't get in the way of anything did he?"
"Surprisingly no, but we have some unexpected plans for tomorrow night." She cocks a brow, crossing her arms. My eyes automatically fall to her chest, making her drop them. "Atticus and I started talking in the car, and relationships came up. He mentioned he was seeing someone for dinner tomorrow night and asked if I was seeing someone. I didn't think there would be a problem in telling him about us, so I did."
"And what did he say?" She asks, her voice small.
"We're going on a double date."
"No way in the darkest pits of hell am I doing on a double date with my ex and his new....whatever she is," she whisper yells. I had a feeling she'd have more of a problem with this than me telling him about us.
"He doesn't believe me that you're actually going out with me." She starts laughing, it's a real laugh too.
"I wouldn't believe it either. Have you seen me?" I'm happy she's able to cover up her her nerves with humor. She sighs when she sees I'm not amused by the joke. "Fine, but no one better get shot or killed."
I pull her into me by her waist, feeling her much smaller body press against mine. She looks up at me through her long lashes, holding the back of my shirt. She's not wrong even though it was a joke; I wouldn't believe it either. She's fucking perfect.
"I promise, and after we can go back to my place and...you know," I say, glancing over at the gapped open door. Her cheeks flare up a few shades of pink. My hands run down her slim arms.
"Are you trying to bribe me with sex?"
"Yes. That is, if you don't cause any fights," I say, knowing that with her mouth it'll probably happen. She'll find one small thing and nip at it all night.
"Fine, I'll be good." The door opens the rest of the way and Atticus steps out. Bex's hands fall from the back of my shirt, but she doesn't move away. He clears his throat, moving his eyes to the floor.
"I'm gonna go now," he says. Bex takes a step back, pulling down her shirt that had risen up. "Make sure she's okay?" he asks her.
"Always."

AN: Ehh this is a weird chapter. It was supposed to go a while different way, but that will be in the next. If I went on out the second half of the chapter in here it would have been too long, so here's something calm. Also, Zav's POV will be a VERY rare occurrence. The double date will be in the NEXT chapter 😌 I really hope you guys enjoyed!
Question: What would you like to see happen? How do you think the double date will go?
