Chapter 15 - Memories

(Y/N)'s POV
Dream and Nightmare gave me some advice on using my powers, I have to focus and not get overwhelmed with my thoughts. Then I started my training with Dream while Nightmare watched from the tree. Dream summoned his golden staff and smiled at me, "Ready?"

I chuckled, "I'm ready when you are..."

Just as I was preparing myself, Dream turned his staff into a bow and shot an arrow at me. I did not expect that at all, never knew that his staff had other functions. I quickly dodged the attack, I still have it in me. He summoned more arrows this time, giving him more range to hit me. Shoot, I need to focus and teleport away from these attacks.

Right before an arrow could hit me, I was able to teleport behind Dream. Thank stars. I tapped his shoulder and he looked behind me, "Nice dodge." He said.

I smiled, "Thanks-" Dream took his chance to turn his bow back into his staff and nearly hit me but I managed to dodge it, "Oh, you're playing dirty..." I smirked.

It seems like I can teleport but I'm unsure about my attacks, I tried to summon my attacks on Dream but it's not working, am I not focusing hard enough? That can't be the case. If I could teleport then doesn't that mean I can use my powers entirely? But it looks like I have to rely on dodging and melee attacks but here's the thing, I'm not good when it comes to physical combat, I usually go by my powers.

Core Frisk's POV
It's been a few hours since I left (Y/N) in Dreamtale, wonder how she's doing? Also, I have a little gift for her, I think she'll like it. When I went back to Dreamtale, I saw Nightmare reading a book by the tree while Dream and (Y/N) were in a battle. I looked over to Nightmare, "What are they doing?" I pointed to them.

"Training, Dream is helping her with her powers."

I sat down beside him, "And how's that going?"

"She's doing well, seems like she can teleport but I haven't noticed her using her attacks..."

I thought for a bit, "I see..."

I watched the training for some time; I noticed that (Y/N)'s reaction time and dodging skills are impressive, she hasn't gotten hit yet but there were times when Dream was close to. It's a bit strange that she's only teleporting, can she not use her attacks? It could be possible that she's not finding the right trigger to summon them.

This training was going for a while, the sun was setting, and I could see (Y/N) getting tired from all of this. She doesn't have good stamina. Dream's attacks became more intense. I don't think she'll be able to handle it anymore. She teleported away to catch her breath and with her guard down, Dream took his chance. He took his arrow and shot it at her,

As his arrow was shot, a force field appeared in front of her, blocking the arrow. Dreams eyes lit up, "Stars! I didn't know you had a force field!"

"... Neither did I..." She mumbled.

Dream looks over to me, "Core Frisk!" He rushes over to me and hugs me, "It's been such a long time!"

"It has been, Dream. May I speak to (Y/N)?" He happily nods.

(Y/N)'s POV
I didn't realize that Core Frisk came in Dreamtale but it's nice seeing them again. They walked up to me and handed me a small gift box, I took it. "What's with the gift, kiddo?" I giggled.

"It's just something special..."

I smiled, "Thanks, kid..."

"Of course, I hope you like it." They opened a portal, "I'll be on my way..."

I nod, "Cya, kid." They left through the portal.

Anyway, that training with Dream was something, more than I expected but I found out that I have a force field. I looked at the small gift box Core Frisk gave me, I'll open this later, so I placed it in my jacket pocket.

"(Y/N)!" Dream called out for me, "It's getting late, let's get going." I nod.

They welcomed me into the house, it felt really cozy inside. Dreamed showed me to my room, it was a small guest bedroom with a twin size bed, drawer, and desk. It kind of reminds me of my room but no mess and more organized. Before Dream left my room, I turned to him, "Do you have a bathroom?" He nods, "... Could you possibly lend me some extra clothes?"

He blushed, "O-Oh! Sure!" While he was looking for extra clothes he could lend me, I took out the gift Core Frisk gave to me. The gift itself is quite tiny, it fits in the palm of my hand. I wiggled the top of the box and before opening it, Dream came back in. "I have a shirt and shorts, is that fine?" I nod.

"Thank you, Dream."

I got up from the bed, putting the gift box on my bed, and taking the clothes from Dream's hands. I found the bathroom and took my shower. The shirt and shorts that Dream gave me were quite big, for my size, but Dream is taller than me. I put the shorts on and adjusted them to the size of my waist then put on the shirt, it covered the shorts. If you just glance at me, it'd look like I'm only wearing a shirt. I took Papyrus's scarf and wrapped it around my neck. I took my dirty clothes back into my room and placed them on top of the drawer. Now, I can resume what I was doing.

The gift box was still on the bed, I sat down and opened the box. Inside was a white marble, it seems like it. I took it out of the box and took a closer look at it. Suddenly, it exploded and it shined the entire room with good memories. What is this? The whole room was scattered with waves of good memories I had. I looked around and smiled, this was beautiful, more than what I could take.

My eyes begin to tear up the more I look at these memories. Then I felt it, a wave of warmth, happiness, and hope. Oh, how I miss the good times, the beautiful times, all of theme. But I understand that they are memories I have to cherish. The more I looked at these memories, the brighter they get, literally. Then, a bright light flashed in front of me. I blinked my eyes a few times then the memories were gone. It was great for how it lasted. But I learned something today; it's to cherish the memories I had....
