Max's POV

As I walked into this hell of a house I don't see my mom as soon as I walk in.
I take a sigh in relief, but just as I thought it was safe I heard a noice in the kitchen.
It sounded like footsteps, light footsteps.
It was my mom.
She made her way over to the front doorway where I was.
She had been waiting for me.
At this point I was sweating buckets.
"Maxwell, May I see your test?"
As much as it seemed, this wasn't a question.
I had no say in the matter.
I reached into my backpack to pull out the stapled papers.
I was shacking the whole way.
I handed her the paper and watched as her face turned from a fake smile, to rage.
"B-But mom! I got the best grade I got the class!"
"GODDAMN IT I TOLD YOU TO CALL ME MOTHER YOU WORTHLESS PEICE OF SHIT!"
She dragged me by my right leg to the kitchen.
This hurt like hell because of the cuts on it.
The whole agonizing way to the kitchen my face was ramming into the floor as I struggled to get out of her grasp.
What was about seven seconds felt like an eternity.
She kept shouting but I couldn't hear her.
She slammed the test onto the kitchen table and threw me against the wall.
My nose almost broke and it was bleeding heavily.
The whole time I was screaming, shouting, crying.
She wouldn't stop, she wouldn't fucking stop.
I rolled over and put my hands on my nose as a reflex.
She grabbed me by the fucking neck and pinned me against the wall.
I was crying, my hands kept scraping against her hands.
This all stopped when she heard a knock on the door.
She barely heard it over my screams.
She dropped me and ran to the door.
She knew that I wouldn't try to escape, it was already too late for that.
I tried my best not to make a sound, but it was so hard not to.
They just came out as silent cries.
Then I heard a voice, the voice was all too familiar and I recognized it at once.
It was... Neil's?
I heard them talking.
"Uhh h-hello miss! Is max here?"
I could only think about how confused my mother must have been.
"Uh no actually, why?"
She said as if nothing happened.
"Really? I saw him enter his house."
My mother didn't reply for a couple of seconds.
"Why are you here?"
"Max left his note book at school."
For a moment I was confused.
I didn't leave my notebook at school as I recalled bringing it back.
So I was confused as to why he was here.
"Max sweetie! You forgot your book!"
I put on my hood to cover up most of my face and to hide the fact that my nose was bleeding and went over to the door.
"Neil I didn-
Neil users me to run out of the house, and my mother was catching on.
She wasn't worried though as she knew that she could trust me not to run.
And Neil couldn't of known what she was doing because she covered up all of the front windows.
I looked at her, and at Neil.
As fast as I could I bolted out the door and ran with Neil.
I didn't know where we were going, but at the same time, I didn't care.
