Margaret's POV:

I had been introduced to most of the pack by now, and my spirits only managed to drop a bit more with each introduction. I had hoped the feeling of my pearl was coming from the one named Embry, as he was without an imprint and seemed incredibly kind, but I was wrong. The few younger wolves that I had met had the same results, and I was wondering if there wasn't a human nearby giving me the sensation that my pearl was near.

My hope of finding my pearl today was dwindling quickly as the sun began to go lower and lower in the sky. Jacob, Bella's fiancé, had taken to introducing me to the last few members of the pack when Sam had to answer a call about his construction company. I had only one more member to meet, and Jacob and I had just walked up behind him as he stared down the beach.

"And this goof ball is Seth Clearwater, Leah's younger brother. Seth, meet Madeline." (Jacob)

As soon as the shapeshifter turned towards me, I knew I had found the one that I had been looking for. A perfectly timed wave crashed on the shore behind him as he looked at me and for a moment, I thought I was in one of the fairy tales my mother told me as a young merchild. He was handsome, not that I would have cared if he wasn't, but it was a nice bonus.

His skin was tan as the rest of the wolves, his black hair and brown eyes seemed to shine in the sun. His lips looked soft and I couldn't help but imagine them on my own lips. I saw his eyes widen as he looked at me and I wondered if he felt what I felt while I stared at him. I was unsure what finding an imprint was like for the shapeshifters, but surely it was just as strong as it was for us when we found our pearl.

A smile grew on my face and I wanted nothing but to talk to him, tell him how long I've waited to meet him but I couldn't. Not yet anyway. So, I settled for a smile and held my hand out to him to shake. He took a step towards me and shook my hand, and I felt the current run up my arm and straight into my heart. My smile grew for a moment until I looked at his face.

He wasn't smiling, in fact he looked worried as he looked at me. I heard someone else calling his name and we both turned to see a girl walking down the beach towards us. He smiled at her as he let go of my hand, before running up to her. I watched as my heart broke into pieces as he scooped her up in his arms and kissed her before laughing at something she said.

They both walked back over to us as Bella watched me with concern in her eyes, having just re-joined us, as Jacob stared at Seth in what looked like anger. Did they know he was supposed to be mine too? I looked at the girl that had my pearl's arm wrapped around her shoulders and I couldn't dislike her. I saw the genuine kindness in her smile and her eyes as she looked at us, and I could practically feel my pearl's happiness as he stared at her.

"Hello, I'm Laurissa." (Laur)

"My girlfriend. Ummm.... well it was nice meeting you and everything Madeline. Tell Jeanie I said hey and Leah too if you see her before I do. But we gotta go, plans for dinner tonight." (Seth)

Seth's POV:

I knew the moment I looked into her eyes that seemed a perfect match for the ocean that she was my imprint. She was the very person I had given up meeting a year ago. She was meant to be my everything but.....I had already found someone to be my everything and she was supposed to meet me here in a few minutes.

I watched as my imprint, Madeline, that was what Jacob said her name was, stared at me. I saw the smile on her face grow and I wondered if she knew somehow that I was supposed to be hers and she was supposed to be mine. She stuck her hand out in a handshake and I slowly took her soft hand in my own.

I felt a surge of energy rush up my arm and I saw her smile only grow wider, but I couldn't seem to form one. I watched as the wind blew her deep green hair gently around her face and the image made me want to smile. I knew that my decision to stay with my girlfriend would break my heart, but I also knew I couldn't just dump Laurissa for a girl I literally just met.

We've been dating for over a year now, and I loved her. I heard her voice call out to me and I smiled as I let go of Madeline's hand, even as my inner wolf howled in protest at the action. I ran towards Laurissa and picked her up in my arms before I kissed her gently on the mouth.

"What's gotten into you today, that was the best greeting I've ever had from you. Not that I'm complaining." (Laur)

"I don't know, just uh....happy to see you I guess." (Seth)

I walked back over to see Jacob practically glaring at me, and I know the rest of the pack will feel the same over not picking my imprint but it's my choice. My arm wrapped around Laurissa's shoulders as I looked back at my imprint and I saw her smile frozen on her face as she looked at Laurissa. Her eyes seemed hurt, but her smile remained the entire time.

"Hello, I'm Laurissa." (Laur)

"My girlfriend. Ummm......well it was nice meeting you and everything Madeline. Tell Jeanie I said hey and Leah too if you see her before I do. But we gotta go, plans for dinner tonight." (Seth)

I looked at Madeline one last time before I took Laurissa's hand in my own and we began racing towards my small black truck parked back down the beach. She started laughing after she let go of my hand and turned it into a race and I couldn't help but join in with her laugh. The pack would have to forgive me of my choice, I just can't break Laurissa's heart for a girl I don't even know.It wouldn't be fair to her.
