set after The Titan's Curse, Christmas themed!!
;)

Gods, this is so embarrassing.

Annabeth can't believe she agreed to this.

They're children of Olympians gods—why are they celebrating Christmas? Sure, Annabeth respects all religions and beliefs, but she just doesn't get the point.

"Don't be such a grinch!" Jade, a younger Aphrodite camper, said. "Christmas is fun, and that's something everyone agrees on. Plus..." she lowered her voice and leaned forward, "mistletoe!"

Annabeth rolled her eyes. The only person she'd be okay with under a mistletoe is a certain son of Poseidon, but she'd never dare say that.

They were just friends, after all, even though that dance on Olympus a few weeks ago had been something. Something burned into Annabeth's heart, to be specific.

And now, she was living the dream.

Percy's entire face was red. Annabeth didn't understand how he could cross the country, hold up the sky, fight a Titan, but get flustered by a plant hanging on a doorway.

"Hey, it's okay," she says suddenly. Percy looks up at Annabeth, surprised that she even spoke.

"W-What?"

She laughs a little, "we don't have to kiss. No one's around."

It's true.

Katie and Travis got stuck kissing under the mistletoe (but everyone knows they enjoyed it) because the Aphrodite cabin was watching them. They probably would've killed them if the kiss hadn't occurred.

Annabeth wishes she was joking.

But at the moment, she's all alone with Percy. It's just them two, no lovesick teenagers, no prankster sons of Hermes, no Chiron to interrupt the moment.

"I've made up my mind," Percy says. His green eyes are a different shade than usual. "Christmas is dumb, anyway."

Annabeth hopes her face doesn't fall. Her heart certainly does, but she doesn't want to let Percy see how he's affected her.

And then with no warning, he leans in and kisses Annabeth plum on the lips, closing his eyes as he rests his hands on her waist.

Her eyes are blown wide, but Percy's still kissing her, so she closes them and tries to engage herself in the kiss.

She's never kissed a boy before, but when they pull away, Percy's grin tells her it couldn't have been too bad.

He concludes, "but some traditions are kind of nice."

Wasn't this boy blushing five minutes ago?

Annabeth decides then and there that Percy has too many sides to him; he's like the sea. Every day is different.

She's just glad that most of him contains of good traits. For example, being a good kisser.

Annabeth graciously says, "uh..." as she feels her face heating up. Percy just laughs and pecks her cheek quickly.

He says, "see you around, Wise Girl," and walks off towards his cabin. Annabeth pretends she doesn't see the huge smile on his face.

And—no, she definitely did not dream of Percy and his soft lips that night. At least, that's what she'll tell people.

ah. yikes.
the next update will be...good. i promise.
