[35] - The Culprit

RHIANNE's POV

Para ako'ng nagising galing sa isa'ng mahaba'ng panaginip.

When I opened my eyes, the first thing that I saw was the white ceiling inside this room. And the next thing I felt was a small pain in my stomach and the numbness of my hands and arms.

What the hell happened?

I roam my eyes around the room that I'm staying in and I've come to realize that I'm in the hospital.

I closed my eyes to remember the very last memory I could ever think of.

Surprise ang barkada 'nang makita naming lahat na dumating si Josh sa restaurant ni Carl. Lahat kami iba't iba ang reaksyon sa nakita namin.

I walked out and I heard a gunshot as I walk towards Angelo's car.

My stomach was bleeding.

Now I remember. I was shot.

I tried to stand my body up but the pain took over my body.

Shoot!

"Babe!"

Napatingin ako sa may pintuan 'nang kwarto'ng kinalalagyan ko 'nang marinig ko ang boses ni Angelo. He immediately run towards me and he held my hand the moment he's beside me.

"'Wag ka na muna'ng tumayo. Baka bumuka 'yang tahi mo e." Angelo said while assisting me to go back lying in this hospital bed. "It's a good thing you're awake, but please don't force yourself." he said.

"Ano'ng nangyari?" tanong ko sa kanya.

Kinuha niya 'yung upuan malapit sa kama ko at tinabi 'yun sa kama ko para maupo siya dun habang hawak niya pa rin ang kamay ko, "Nabaril ka 'nung lumabas ka ng resto ni Carl last night." he said.

I nodded as a sign that I remember what happened, "After that?"

"We rushed you here in the hospital. Unfortunately, marami'ng dugo ang nawala sa'yo kaya kinailangan ng blood transfusion para maituloy ang pagtanggal ng bala sa katawan mo." blood transfusion? So there's someone else's blood in my body right now? "And it was the blood of Josh, since he's the only person who matched your blood."

Dugo ni Josh?

Dugo ni Josh ngayon ang dumadaloy sa buo'ng katawan ko? Is he serious?

"Hindi nga siya nagdalawa'ng isip na gawin 'yun e." he added.

As I observe him and his facial expression, nakita ko na parang may lungkot sa mga mata niya. Maybe he prayed na sana siya na lang ang nagdonate ng dugo para sa'kin, na sana dugo na lang niya ang nasa katawan ko ngayon.
