______________________________________________________________The Oracle. An important part of Greek mythology. An interrupter of fate itself. A way to shape the future where free will is tested.
And it was all inside the body of a sixteen-year-old girl. Rachel stood in the middle of the amphitheater wearing a dark cloak with the hood down. Her fiery red hair seemed to reflect the sunset. Jean walked to me once I arrived.
"What's wrong?" He asked immediately noticing my worried expression. "Did someone bully you? Was it those Ares kids?"
I shook my head. "No, Rachel needed to see me apparently nothing good comes from it."
Jean looked at the red-haired girl who was talking to some kids from the Hephaestus cabin. "So, you're scared of Merida from Brave?"
I shivered thinking of the princess. "Absolutely but we'd still be best friends." I grinned at the thought.
Jean laughed patting my back. "We've been through worse." We walked down towards the red-haired girl.
She looked over at us her eyes were wide before her eyes rolled into the back of her revealing only white. I jumped from the look as green mist came out from her mouth and surrounded her.
I could feel something evil coming from her which were messing with my instincts that wanted me to run.
"Three shall go west to seek the three who are left
They shall travel by flight
One shall be taken and hidden from your sight
Daughter of Poseidon shall venture the ocean blue to follow them on their quest."
Someone caught her before she could fall to the ground. They gently laid her on the stands. I just watched a bit horrified by the entire thing.
"A quest has been spoken." I jumped to see Chiron next to me as he looked at the unconscious Rachel. "And it is yours (F/N) (L/N)."
I gulped feeling the weight of those words on my shoulders. A quest for me? I looked at the fire to see a young girl tending to the flame. She turned around and offered a sympathetic smile.
"As by the rules you may choose two people to accompany you," Chiron said snapping me out of my thoughts.
She said three. And I got to pick the two that got to accompany me. I instantly looked at Jean. He gave me a small smile before ruffling my (H/C) hair.
"I'll come with you. Till the end." Jean told me honestly with a raised fist. I smiled before fist-bumping him.
That's two. I looked at Nico who was with the other counselors. He had his hands stuffed into his jacket.
"Nico," I called out weakly. He sighed before a ghost of a smile appeared on his face.
Nico walked closer standing on my left with Jean on my right. I looked up at Chiron who was watching us with a small smile.
"(F/N) (L/N), Jean Barrow, and Nico di Angelo. Will you accept the quest?" Chiron asked us.
"Yes," Jean responded.
