"You know I was just kidding about the hot chocolate right?" Jean asked as I held the warm cup in my hands. I grinned at his comment.
"We never joke about food," I told him. Miguel nodded in agreement as he scarfed down another blueberry muffin. "I'm more surprised Percy got this for free."
Percy walked towards us ignoring the stares of a few girls who were looking at him. He was completely oblivious to the attention.
"All the girls like him." Jean pouted hiding his face behind the foam cup.
"Even the guys like him." Miguel pointed to the few boys who were watching Percy with hearts in their eyes. "Too bad he's taken and he seems like the loyal type."
I chuckled a bit remembering how Nico told me loyalty was Percy's fatal flaw. "You have no idea, he'd follow her to Tartarus if he had too."
Miguel shivered at the idea. "I could never be that loyal to someone. I'd probably steal for them but never follow them there."
"You'd steal even if they didn't want you to," Jean argued with a playful smile.
"Probably." Miguel agreed with a nod his brown eyes looked at the chocolate muffin in my grasp. "You gonna eat that?"
"Yes," I responded moving it closer to my chest as I narrowed my eyes at him. He held up his hands in surrender with a smirk on his face.
"Okay, okay fine." He mumbled. "No need to get defensive."
Jean watched us amused. His green eyes drifted behind us before widening and looking back at us. "Hurry pretend you're talking to me!"
I exchanged a look with Miguel before looking back at our blonde friend. "But we are talking to you."
Jean rolled his eyes, not liking that comment. He opened his mouth.
"Are you guys ready yet?" Percy asked interrupting whatever Jean was going to say. We all turned to the older kid who held his own hot chocolate and blueberry muffin.
"Yeah, we're ready," I responded noticing the two boys were hesitating to respond. Jean was just staring at Percy like he was a piece of artwork while Miguel was eyeing the blueberry muffin in my brother's hand. We were clearly very different from one another. But I didnt mind.
Percy nodded ignoring the two boys as we walked beside one another. It wasn't too awkward like earlier at dinner. I figured it was because Annabeth wasn't with him, she still kind of scared me. And I got the feeling, I wasn't exactly her favorite person since I showed up at Camp Half-Blood unannounced. I frowned at the idea of her not liking me.
Sure, I'm used to other people either getting along with me or just hating my guts. But I didnt want my brother's girlfriend to be one of them. It didn't help that I liked Percy's mom too, Mrs.Blofis. I wonder if Annabeth likes her too. It would be hard not to like Mrs.Blofis.
"Poor Reyna," Jean mumbled as he made his way to my other side. Miguel was next to him still eyeing my chocolate muffin. "She even likes Jason and he has a girlfriend too."
"Oh, she had a huge crush on him," Miguel confirmed.
Poor Reyna. Unfortunately for her, both boys couldn't read the mood well especially with girls.
"What are you guys talking about?" Percy asked looking at us confused.
"Reyna," I responded frowning. "You really need to be more subtle about letting people down."
Percy frowned too looking a bit conflicted about the girl in question. "She's nice but I like her as a friend."
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure she got the message," I responded. "You and Jason need to learn how girls work."
