I don't understand how Jean can deal with all these emotions. He flirts with literally anything that moves and can easily remember their names. It was a talent, he told me it's because he really does love them even if it for a brief second. Even if they didn't like him back.

Once Jean had confirmed my feelings, he disappeared with Nico. Oh, gods, I hope he wasn't telling him everything! No! No, Jean wouldn't do that to me unless he had something to gain. I crumbled into myself. He wanted Nico and me to get together. He had everything to gain.

Gods, why me? Nico doesn't even like me. He likes Percy. He doesn't seem like the type to change his love interest on a drop of a dime. And there's the fact Percy has a girlfriend. That might've traumatized Nico. I'm currently traumatized knowing my crush likes someone else.

I need to go think. I left the theater and headed to the nearest body of water which happened to be in the form of a lake. Taking off my shoes and rolling up my pants, I sat on the edge of the lake dipping my feet into the cool water. Water has always made me more relaxed. It helped organize my thoughts.

"Rough day?" A familiar voice asked. I didn't even flinch as I looked up to see a familiar fishing cap with sea-green eyes. He was holding a fishing pole with the water up to his ankles.

I sighed leaning against my knees. "Yeah," I admitted. Poseidon nodded before sitting next to me still holding onto his fishing pole. It was a silent invitation to talk about it. I wasn't scared to open up to him, I've been doing it for years. "Everyone keeps comparing me to Percy."

He didn't look shock instead he nodded. "He has quite a legacy. He has changed the standards for all my children. Even the ones that haven't been born yet."

"Wow. Thanks." I responded blankly. Almost forgetting that he was a god. It felt like old times when we would stay up late and watch my fishes do fishy things.

Poseidon grinned as his fishing pole tugged. "But your not Percy. Your (F/N)." He riled his line in to reveal a fat catfish. Poseidon sighed disappointedly. "There's no good sea creatures in freshwater."

"Saltwater is better." I agreed with a nod.

"Yes, it is," Poseidon said pulling the catfish free from the hook.

"I'm free!"

Then he tossed it back into the lake. "And you are very special," Poseidon said continuing what I'm guessing is his motivational speech. "In your own (F/N) way."

Was I suppose to feel better? Well, I felt a bit better at least Poseidon didn't seem me as some replacement. "Yeah but everyone thinks you sent me to replace Percy. Even my crush has a crush on Percy."

"Who? That son of Hades?" Poseidon questioned. I felt myself blush. Was it really that obvious?

"Possibly," I responded trying to stay vague but Poseidon chuckled gently patting my head.

"Boy trouble. I hoped this day wouldn't come." Poseidon removed his hand as he set his fishing rod to the side. "You know as your father I greatly disapprove of him. But as your godly patron hed make an excellent ally."

"Patron?" I asked confused.

Poseidon nodded. "It means whatever you accomplish will be in my honor. And in return, I shall guide you more than I am usually allowed."

I stared at him in amazement. He was my patron? Did he actually trust that I would do something that would make him honorable? Gods that was so much pressure it didn't help that he was my dad. "What if I mess up?"

Poseidon smiled kindly at me his sea-green eyes sparkling. "You will not. I trust all your decisions even the more questionable ones."

Nico. "How would you do it?" I questioned. Poseidon tilted his head confused. "How would you tell someone that you like-like them."

My cheeks were warm in embarrassment as I awkwardly twiddle my thumbs. "Just tell them."

I chuckled awkwardly. "Sounds hard," I mumbled.

"It's not I have confessed my love to enough people. Being honest is always the best." Poseidon insisted. I looked up at him but he was looking at the lake with a fond smile on his face.

I wonder if that's how he met my mom?

"Does it always work?" I asked curiously.

"No." He admitted. "Demeter never accepted my confessions, she did once but that was centuries ago."

Demeter? Must be an ancient girlfriend.

"When she turned into a horse. I followed right after her and we had a son."

I pulled a face looking at my dad digested. "You confessed to her as a horse?"

Poseidon didn't seem to notice my face as he looked at me with a bright grin. "Yes, we had a son named Arion."

"Wait is Demeter a horse that you mated with? And is Arion a horse?" All my worries about confessing were gone. My dad was a desperate man.

"No shes my sister." Gross. "And yes Arion is a horse, a very fast horse only to be tamed by those he truly respects."

"I'm related to a horse," I mumbled in slight amazed. I had a Cyclops brother and a horse brother. I was more curious about the identities of my other siblings now. Maybe I'll be related to Ariel next.

"You should not give up just because your crush likes someone else." Poseidon summed up trying to explain what his strange story meant.

I shouldn't give up. But how far should I go for him? What if I end in a never-ending cycle of love and rejection? This is something the gods probably never have to deal with. Well, I guess based on Poseidon's story they deal with it a lot. It probably sucks more because of their immortality, and stuff.

"Your right," I said looking at the lake. The sun reflecting off the blue water making it shimmer beautifully. "I'm going to tell him how I feel."

"I still do not approve," Poseidon mumbled to himself. "But if it puts you in good spirits I will do my best to not smite him when he travels in the ocean."

I gave him a forced smile. "Thanks," I responded. Poseidon smiled brightly at me.

"Oh, that reminds me. I came here on business." I looked at him curiously as he pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket. "Once you arrive in California head to this address. I shall meet you there."

He gave me the paper which I took. I frowned all it said was 'Santa Monica Beach'.

"A beach?" I questioned looking up to find no one there. There was only the smell of salty water. I could only sigh at the familiar behavior. "Always dodging questions."

With my mind refreshed and new confidence in my veins. I stood up tucking the piece of paper into my pants and headed back to the theater.

I smiled to myself as I touched the warm metal door. I can do this. I'm going to tell Nico how I feel. Before I could open the door. It flew open to reveal a familiar red-headed woman who was grinning at me.

"We're going to go get some clothes for the concert!" And without waiting for my response she pulled away from the theater.

I'll confess tonight!

What is a Patron?

Google: a person chosen, named, or honored as a special guardian, protector, or supporter

Me: I see. *making brain notes* a gods property. Okay Heroes of Olympus what do you say?

The Lost Olympian: basically Jupiter had a kid and gave his life to Juno so he'd be her service boy because Jupiter couldn't keep it in his pants

Me: interesting. Okay then there's Battle of the Labyrinth

Battle of the Labyrinth: Antaeus says he kills and makes dead bodies an alter for Poseidon because he believes killing people brings his father honor.

Me: I shall make note of all of this. Except for you Battle of the Labyrinth, I'm still mad at you
