Kylie Jenner announces the birth of a baby girl after months of pregnancy rumors

After months of speculation, rumors and tabloid headlines about a possible pregnancy, Kylie Jenner announced Sunday that she had given birth to a baby girl just three days before.
"I'm sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions. I understand you're used to me bringing you along on all my journeys," Jenner, 20, tweeted. "My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress-free, and healthy way I knew how."
She followed the announcement with the release of a video, "To Our Daughter."

The Kardashian-Jenner family has become a pop culture powerhouse precisely because of the unfettered access they allow the public. Members of the family have documented some of the most intimate, and uncomfortable, moments of their lives for their reality TV show and through social media.

Kylie Jenner took a different approach throughout her pregnancy. In September, tabloids wrote that the pregnancy for Jenner and her boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott, was a "happy" surprise. But neither Jenner nor her family ever publicly confirmed the news, and she's mostly remained out of the spotlight since.
"There was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal I had planned," she wrote in a statement. "I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness."

She added: "I appreciate my friends and especially my family for helping me make this special moment as private as we could."

The birth of Jenner's daughter seems to have ended the push for total privacy. After announcing the news, Jenner's official YouTube page posted the 11-minute video that documented the entire pregnancy, including footage of her visiting the doctor with Scott, listening to the baby's heartbeat, and even audio of the moment she gave birth.

The video also shows Jenner holding Kim Kardashian's newest baby, Chicago; Christmas and birthday parties; and her indulging in fast-food cravings. Several of her friends also talked about the moment they found out she was pregnant and described Jenner as wanting to become a mother for some time.

"Your mother and I were living our lives, having fun," Jenner's twin sister, says on camera. "She met your father and they just hit it off. 'Chemistry'."

Kass continued: "One day I was in your mom's bathroom with her, and she took a test. . . . Then she passed it to me after, like, 'Surprise!' "
In announcing the news, Jenner wrote that "pregnancy has been the most beautiful, empowering, and life-changing experience I've had in my entire life and I'm actually going to miss it."The announcement and pregnancy footage ends the cycles of disappointment among fans who had expected a big reveal at several moments in the past six months. Jenner had been conspicuously missing from the annual Kardashian-Jenner Christmas card. People pored over a recent Calvin Klein ad campaign and a magazine photoshoot looking for clues.

"God is SO good!! I am so excited and thrilled to welcome another precious baby girl to our beautiful, ever-growing family," Kris Jenner tweeted.
