Edge Of Dawn

Trees. Just trees and a path.

Pin didn't care where the path took her, as long as she could survive.

The world was crumbling. She didn't know why. Golf Ball mentioned something before falling into the abyss. But she couldn't remember what she had said.

A bit of light shine through the thick trees. Not much though. The light was a tropical orange. The sun was setting.

She crossed a tiny bridge, a little stream under it. She recognized the bridge. After crossing she stopped.

It was the bridge she and Coiny had discovered a few months back. She remembered that beautiful moment.

Ominous sounds came closer to Pin's ears as the ground dissapeared. She felt tears sting her eyes.

She forced herself away from the bridge and kept running.

But the ground was gaining on her. And she had no momentum now.

The ground collapsed under her and she could see the tiny piece of land left as she fell.

She screamed.

And then she stopped.

Something had caught her. Their grip was soft and warm. She kept her eyes closed. She was scared. She didn't want to move.

"It's ok.. it's ok.." A familiar voice whispered to her.

She sniffled, terrified. She felt like she was floating in space. With this thing, not moving.

"Hey," they start. "Open your eyes, Pin." Their voice was so soft and caring, she couldn't resist listening.

"C-.. Coiny?" She looks at him. He towers over her, holding her close. She doesn't look at his face, but she can tell just by looking at his torso. (I know canonically that Coiny is shorter, but let's just go with it)

"What's wrong Pin? You freaked out and.. just started shaking and broke down. What happened?"

She looked away from Coiny. The ground was fine, the birds were chirping their beautiful songs, and water dripped down into the stream of water. They were on the bridge.

"I..." She started breathing faster. Her heart raced. What happened? "I don't know.."

Silence.

"C-.. Can we go home?"

Coiny nodded. "Yes of course."

"And.. tell me I'll see you again." She pleaded.

Coiny let out a scoff. Like she was ridiculous. "Why would I- Pin are you ok?"

"Yes I am! Just say it please!" She cries.

Coiny smiled. "Ok, ok." Pins hugs him.

"Please.."

"You'll see me again, Pin. Very soon."

Very soon? "Wh-" She fell down. She was just leaning on Coiny, and... She was now on her knees. She looked behind her.

Dust fluttered down into a pile. Pin gasped. She crawled to the dust and frantically picked the particles up. "Coiny? Coiny?!" She  stared at the particles. She cried. Loud sobs escaping her lips.

There was a rustle in a bush.

She looked behind her. Coiny. He was far away, on the path.

She got up and started running towards Coiny, shouting his name.

Then he started running away. "Coiny! Please come back! Please!" Tears flew out of her eyes into the air as she ran to him. She put a hand out, desperately hoping he would stop running.

And then... Coiny ran through an opening. White light came out of it.

Pin followed. "Coiny! Please come back..." She exited the path. Her eyes were blinded by the light.

She covered her eyes and knelt down. The light made her feel weak.

Her eyes adjusted to the light. She removed her arm from her face. A hand. She stared at it.

The hand came from a cloud in front of her.

She grabbed it, and she was yanked inside the cloud.

She yelped, and bumped into somebody. She looked up. "Coiny!"

"Hey Pin, welcome to heaven."

Um, so this was going somewhere and it ran way off course, uh-. Hope you like it?

Damn, my ideas never come out how I want it to. Goddamnit.
