Happy Little Accident

Hey! This chapter is dedicated to shoplkins2! It's their birthday today! Please wish em a happy birthday! Anyway, they asked me for a Nonexistent Living oneshot. Nonexistent Living is another object show! It's only three episodes in, but it is very high quality! Check it out on YouTube! Next, this chapter took inspiration from the new Animal Crossing game. So things may not make sense to people who don't know what that is. Anyway, onto the story!

Ruler frantically ran around, looking for them. Where was the island rep? Tom Nook? Timmy and Tommy? Speech Bubble? Where were they all?!

He entered the island representative's tent. It was mostly empty except for an uncomfortable looking bed, a lantern, and a radio. It was playing "Go KK Rider!" Seeing the emptiness made Ruler's heart race with worry.

Did they abandon me? What happened?

He ran out and checked Tom Nook's tent. Nobody there, either.

Ruler stepped outside and slumped in the middle of the plaza, defeated. Everyone really had left him.. he was alone on this deserted island with nobody..

The sounds of leaves crunching came from behind Ruler, and somebody tapped on his shoulder. Ruler jumped up and looked at the person. It happened to be Speech Bubble!

Ruler smiled brightly and hugged him. "Oh thank goodness you didn't betray me!"

Speech Bubble grunted as Ruler hugged him, then laughed nervously. "Betrayed you? Why would I do that?"

Ruler let go of him and stretched his arm across the island landscape. "Everyone else is gone! Nook, Timmy, Tommy, the island rep! They're all gone!"

Speech Bubble comes to a realization. "Oooh! Hahah, silly, they wouldn't leave us like that. They're just on a business trip, that's all!" Speech Bubble leaned on Ruler.

"Huh?" Ruler gaped. "When did you find this out?"

Speech Bubble leaned against Tom Nook's tent. "This morning Book announced they were going on a quick business trip. They should be back before 10 tonight." He looked up at the sky. He noticed a little something flying through the air.

"Oh.. I see.. sorry for worrying so much." Ruler apologized. He looked down.

Speech Bubble looked back at Ruler, but kept the present in his peripherals. "Here, why don't you head to my house? We could chill there!" Speech Bubble smiled.

Ruler blushed. "Heh, I dunno.. are you sure that's alright?" He rubbed the back of his head.

"Yeah, sure. You go ahead. I gotta get something first." Speech Bubble walked away. As he did, he took out a slingshot.

Ruler sat on the log garden lounge. It wasn't the most comfortable thing, but it would do until Speech Bubble came back.

Ruler covered his eyes as the sun came out from behind a cloud. He turned to his right to avoid it.

He could see Speech Bubble coming from the distance. There was a little white box with a red bow on it in his hand. He had a bright smile as he jogged over.

Ruler sat up and smiled. "Hey! What's that?"

Speech Bubble held out the present. "It's a present for you, silly!" Speech Bubble cheered.

Ruler felt flattered as he took the gift. "Wow.. thank you, SB." He took off the top and inside was..

Speech Bubble sat down on the grass, in front of the log garden lounge. He heard Ruler unboxing the present.

Speech Bubble thought about what was in it. He saw it floating with a balloon and shot it down. He never opened it, he just gave it to Ruler, so he has no idea what was in it.

Ruler tapped on his shoulder. When Speech Bubble looked up, Ruler seemed flustered. "Huh?" Speech Bubble stood up and looked at the gift inside the box.

It was a bouquet of flowers, with little artificial heart ones thrown in between. "Uh-" Speech Bubble stated, before getting hugged by Ruler.

"Oh my gosh, SB! I'm.. so glad you feel that way!" Ruler hugged him hard.

Speech Bubble had a confused and slightly flustered look. He was so confused. But a smile slowly appeared on his face. Ruler set Speech Bubble down. "I'm gonna put this in my tent! I can't wait to start this relationship!" Ruler kissed Speech Bubble's cheek before giddily running off to his tent.

Speech Bubble touched the part of his cheek where Ruler kissed it. He smiled. Well.. he got into a relationship with Ruler he wasn't prepared to be in, but honestly..

He was really excited to be with Ruler, too.

His cheeks bloomed red and, with a smile, he skipped towards Ruler's tent, to hang out.
