Hey guys. Not feeling good today. I'm not proud of last chapter and I made some dumbass agreement I regret. Gotta hold up my end of the deal though, so I will. Either way, don't feel good. Been feeling some weird feelings I shouldn't be, so to calm down I'm gonna write about my favorite scenario. Stargazing. With Coaster and Phonograph again. Consider this a continuation of last time. Enjoy.

Another plane flew overhead. The wind coming from the outside blowing on Coaster's face made her feel at peace. The grass swayed around the two of them, brushing and tickling them. Coaster shut her eyes and used her hands as a pillow. Phonograph was laying wide awake.

"I love the stars.." Phonograph wonders aloud.

Coaster opens an eye. "Hm?"

Phonograph realizes what she did. She sits up and rubs the back of her head. "Oh, sorry. I was.. talking to myself."

Coaster sits up too, and wipes her eyes. "No, I get it. Now what about stars?"

Phonograph sighs. "The stars are so beautiful, yknow?" She lays down again. Coaster does the same.

"Yeah.. just the asmr from the city noises are nice."

Phonograph laughed. "You actually like those noises?"

"City girl, what can I say." She looks up at the moon. It's full tonight. A butterfly lands on Coaster's chest. She smirks. "Heh. Looks like they missed one." Coaster puts out a finger, and the butterfly crawled onto it. She gently lifted her finger up, to not scare it away.

She learned that from Phonograph.

Coaster sat up and lifted the butterfly to eye level. Phonograph looks and smiles. "How cute. Aren't butterflies such wonderful creatures?" Phonograph asks.

"Yeah.." Coaster sets it down on the ground. "Sometimes I wish I was a butterfly, too."

Phonograph looks at her, quizzically. "You do know they don't survive long, right?"

Coaster nods and lays down. "Yeah. But just being care free is worth it."

"But-" Coaster cuts her off.

"Just let me think what I want, k?"

Phonograph frowns, slightly discouraged. "Sorry.."

Coaster laughs. "No, I'm sorry. I probably shouldn't have snapped at you like that.. I'm- I've just got a lot on my mind."

"Hm? Like what?"

Coaster sighed. "There was this one girl.. she was the.. eh.." Coaster blushed, touching her forehead with both hands. "It's cheesy, but she was the love of my life."

"Oh?"

"She was so nice, funny, quirky.. she was what I aspired to be.." Coaster looks away, putting her arms at her sides. "But one day, she dissapeared, and I really took a dive in my emotions. I started feeling suicidal.." Coaster leans to face away from Phonograph. "My parents kicked me out of my house. I had failing grades. And I didn't have any friends after she died. And when I was on the street, I saw the poster for this competition. With nowhere to go.." Coaster's voice broke and tears started sliding from her eyes. ".. I came here.. in desperation.." She mutters.

Phonograph felt really bad now. "Wow.. I'm sorry, Coaster."

Coaster doesn't respond.

Phonograph looks down, not sure what to say. The butterfly from earlier perched onto Phonograph. Phonograph smiles, an idea popping into her head. She lets the butterfly on her finger.

She walks over to Coaster. The wind takes another one of Coaster's tears. Phonograph kneels behind her, and sets the butterfly down on her. "Well.. all that matters is you're here now. Like someone wise once said, 'Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present." Phonograph steps back.

Coaster lays on her back. The butterfly flies away. Coaster faces Phonograph. "You're.. You're a real gift, Phonograph. You know that?" Coaster smiled, with a bit of a red tint to her cheeks.

Phonograph smiles and hugged Coaster. "I just want you to be ok. You're so nice, Coaster. I have to repay you back."

Coaster laughs. "Thanks, Phonograph."

Phonograph releases the hug and starts fiddling around with her record. "Don't mention it. To lighten the mood, let me put on some music."

Coaster was having the time of her life. And it wasn't even at a party. It was with this magical woman. On a secluded hill, watching the stars. Coaster never would've imagined something like this. But here she was.

And she was happy with it.

Coaster shut her eyes, with a smile. Not one of confidence, but one of peace.
