CHAPTER 18

Jennie was pacing in her office. She was absolutely going to lose her shit. The invitation for the Annual Gala was sent to her this morning and her stomach started doing belly flips when she realized all the people who would be attending.

Every year, all the business moguls and powerful families in the country would gather for one night for the most expensive and extravagant Gala of the year. Basically it was just business CEO's and powerful businessmen sizing each other up and seeing who failed and who didn't. It was a perfect place to mark your presence or tear someone's image down, make business deals and partnership or, in Jennie's situation, make a comeback. Not just any comeback, a comeback and to publicly flaunt their engagement. To let everyone drool over her and Chaeyoung's family empires combining in marriage and in business.

This year their parents decided to not attend the Gala. They wanted to send the message that the crown is officially transferred to Jennie and Chaeyoung and again what other event would fit perfect other than this Gala?

Jennie and Chaeyoung was used to this, they would always accompany their parents in the yearly gala but this time they were on their own. When Jennie turned 18 she didn't use the Gala to promote her business nor to promote her fame or music. She used it as a distraction. She would see Chaeyoung there in all her glory and she would be in her best gown but Jennie would stand next to the girl and she couldn't do anything about it. She would watch her every year and dream to one day be able to hold her hand in the Annual Gala, take her home and have her way with her. Of course in the 4 years that they drifted apart were the years that Jennie was transitioning into adulthood so her hormones were spiking up. So she did what was the easiest solution to her hormonal problem, she hooked up with the next girl who looked remotely like her Park Chaeyoung.

The girl she would hook up with would need to be the same hair color as Chaeyoung at the moment, she would need to be skinny and tall as well. She wasn't a player. She didn't break their hearts, no. She always informed them that it was a casual thing. No strings attached. Of course the girl she picked would always agree because who could turn down Jennie Kim's advances?

The problem is, in the 4 years of her sexual frustration because of Chaeyoung, she has acquired a significant amount of casual hook ups. Jennie being Jennie, her hook ups were mostly daughters of CEOs and Business men which meant she would see them at the Annual Gala. The Gala that she would be attending next week with her fiancé. She was nervous that maybe someone would approach her or say something that would give Chaeyoung the wrong idea.

Just before Jennie was about to rip her hair off her scalp, Jisoo strode inside her office and sat on the couch looking at the girl amusedly. Jennie sat beside her Unnie and looked at her with the most panicked expression she could muster. "Unnie help me I'm going crazy."

Jisoo covered her mouth and threw her head back to laugh at her usually composed friend. "What is it this time? Did you accidentally brush your hands against Chaeyoung's or something?"

Jennie had a deadpan expression and spoke in a monotonous tone "No Unnie. I can hold her hand without panicking now." Jisoo scoffed and nodded at this motioning for the younger girl to continue.

"The Annual Gala is coming up and you know I have some friends and I'm worried that someone will do or say something that will give Chaeyoung the wrong idea. She had an anxiety attack about it just because she was worried someone will take me away from her. What will happen if she finds out half of the girls there are my... friends?"

Jisoo raised her eyebrow at this and crossed her arms. "Kim Jennie, by friends you mean fuck buddies. Let's not lie. If you're so worried then why don't you just tell her?"
