CHAPTER 23

Chaeyoung was still red from embarrassment when the Professor strode inside the Lecture Hall. It was their class in Public Speaking. As a University full of heirs and future CEOs, the School Board Administrators made sure to equip them for their future endeavours and of course the University would like to produce well-spoken business moguls. Unfortunately for Chaeyoung, it was the day where they would be presenting in front of the class and reading famous speeches. She was actually looking forward to this activity since she knew she did well in front of the crowd but right now all she wanted was for the ground to open up beneath her and swallow her whole. Meanwhile, her best friends were smirking like maniacs beside her.

"Next, Park Rosé."

Chaeyoung was mortified. She tried to hide her hickey with her hair but it was slightly placed at the front so her hair wouldn't have helped much. She heard Lisa try and control her laughter beside her as she stood from her seat and made her way down the stairs towards the front of the class. The Thai dancer was actually patting Jennie's shoulder in her head. She knew that their headmaster put a hickey on Chaeyoung not just for fun but to send a message to everyone on campus. So while her best friend was trying to act graceful and nonchalant while sporting a purple hickey, Lisa was looking around the room and seeing dejected faces from all of Chaeyoung's pesky suitors. She was sure no one would pester her best friend anymore but of course she would still be the most sought out girl in campus. So all in all, Lisa supported Jennie's hickey escapade.

Chaeyoung gripped the copy of "I Have a Dream" by Martin Luther King in her hand and settled behind the podium. Chaeyoung wasn't actually against the whole hickey thing. She always wondered what it was like to get a hickey from Jennie. The blonde girl felt slightly proud that Jennie marked her but she wasn't so sure how she felt when she was sporting the now purple hickey in a supposed to be formal school setting.

She heard a couple of silent gasps coming from her classmates but she ignored them and cleared her throat. Lifting her gaze to start the speech she noticed some of them staring at her wide eyed and her face immediately turned beet red. But of course, Park Chaeyoung was nothing less than flawless. She continued her speech as graceful and as flawlessly possible. So by the end of her presentation the class was both in awe at the speech and at the purple patch on their goddess' neck. Making her way back to her seat, she caught sight of a wide eyed Jung Kook in disbelief while Namjoon rubbed his shoulder in sympathy silently whispering to the boy. "Take a hint. Miss Kim isn't playing games if she's letting Rosé walk around with that."

Lisa being Lisa heard this and turned around in her seat to face the boys while talking rather loudly. "Take a hint!" This made the room erupt in giggles. Lisa was immediately scolded by the professor and Chaeyoung couldn't help but wonder if Jennie really did give her a hickey on purpose. Either way she was going to figure out a way to get back at her fiancé.

By the end of the class, word spread like wildfire and the news about the untouchable blonde goddess having a hickey by none other than Jennie Kim herself has spread all throughout campus. If it was just any other student walking around with a hickey on their neck, this would've been normal, they were in college full of attractive people after all. But this wasn't just any other student, it was Park Rosé. Everybody knew that the girl has never dated anyone which made her even more desirable to her suitors and admirers. Everybody wanted to be Park Rosé's significant other. You could say that she was the most sought after and most attractive bachelorette in campus.

Seeing no point in hiding her hickey since everybody knew anyway and she was an engaged woman after all, Chaeyoung didn't bother to try and hide it while she linked arms with her Cousin Jihyo and strode out of the Lecture Hall with Mina and Lisa trailing behind them. She had 2 classes left before she could see Jennie and go home together. Vocal Training and Dance Practice went by without a hitch and Chaeyoung enjoyed both classes with her best friends. After taking a shower post dance class she immediately started packing her things and walked to the parking lot with her friends.
