CHAPTER 34

She really shouldn't have felt this giddy at seeing a single stem of purple lilac on her desk for the 3rd day in a row since Monday and it was currently a Wednesday. She shouldn't have felt butterflies in her stomach when her friends teased her about it every morning. But Chaeyoung couldn't help it. She was trying to stay strong and unimpressed here but failing miserably. It felt like she was a high school student getting giddy over a crush. She smiles at it anyway, picking the purple lilac up and bringing it up to her nose to take a sniff of its essence and sitting down between Lisa and Jihyo as they waited for their first period professor to come in.

Honestly it wasn't her fiancé's fault that she was basically sculpted by the gods and sent to earth to torture mere fickle humans like herself. But last Friday it was the last straw for the blonde's sensitive heart when she sat in class watching Minatozaki Sana stand and giggle at Jennie for a solid 20 minutes as her fiancé was conducting a gruelling recitation during their class period. Sana wasn't a bad person per say, she was just naturally a giggly girl. She had long legs that could go on for days, blonde hair like Chaeyoung, a pointed nose that was seemingly perfect, eyes that could smoulder into anyone's heart and a hot body. The girl was practically sex on legs.

So really, it wasn't Chaeyoung's fault if she felt a little bit pissed at the way Sana eyed Jennie from head to toe. Or the way Sana fiddled with the ends of her hair as she tried to think of an answer to Jennie's hard recitation questions. It wasn't Chaeyoung's fault either that she basically gave Jennie the cold shoulder for the past 5 days since last Friday claiming that she was just on her period that's why she's grumpy and maybe extra sassy. But bless Jennie's oblivious heart because the girl just took Chaeyoung's answer as it is and showered the younger girl with so much affection it actually made Jihyo and Lisa gag from all the cheesiness.

Since Monday morning, Jennie has been sneaking into the younger girl's lecture hall to leave a single stem of a flower on her fiancé's desk in hopes of dissipating the blonde's irritableness. It worked but each and every day she would eventually catch the Japanese goddess, Minatozaki Sana, somehow talking or interacting with Jennie. Chaeyoung did overhear that since the Japanese girl was late for the early semester that she needed extra homework and projects to keep up with the lectures which meant that Sana needed to talk to each and every professor that she had to get some homework and paperwork done not just Jennie. She'd hate to admit it but she really had no logical reason to be jealous of Sana.

Jihyo did say that it wasn't Sana's fault and as much as Chaeyoung didn't want to admit it but yes the Japanese girl wasn't to blame if she was seeking out Jennie for the past week or so. She just couldn't help it really. She wasn't a jealous person but she did have her moments. And this. This was a very very very big moment. Chou Tzuyu wasn't fairing well either, the younger girl waiting for the right moment to reciprocate Sana's obvious staring and clinginess. The cold maknae of the group just officially caught feelings for the girl but wasn't too pleased when she would see Sana with something else that wasn't her.

Chaeyoung loved her fiancé to death but sometimes her pretty little head didn't pick up when she was jealous, not that she wanted her to pick up the signs. Okay maybe she did but she didn't want it to be spoon fed to Jennie that Chaeyoung was being a little brat because of petty jealousy. She loved how Jennie responded to her being irritable and grumpy lately though so she just savoured the moment of being a little brat to the young CEO, even through Jennie's obliviousness, she was still so sweet and it made Chaeyoung want to jump her bones. It was a Wednesday and the 3rd day of Chaeyoung's so called "period" as she explained to Jennie. So it was also the 3rd day of her receiving a flower on her desk with a cute sticky note on it for good measure.

She recalled the last 2 times she received a flower from her fiancé. Last Monday she waltzed into her lecture hall 10 minutes before class started and she found the first flower that Jennie left. It was a beautiful orange Gerbera with a cute yellow sticky note on its stem. So Chaeyoung timidly sat on her desk before picking up the note confusedly to see which idiot gave her a flower knowing she was engaged to the most powerful CEO in the country. Apparently that idiot was none other than her oblivious dumpling of a fiancé. She read the note and couldn't help but crack a small smile through her permanent pout that's been plastered on her face since last Friday.
