Consequences

The next time I woke up my parents and in-laws were there. I wanted nothing more than to sleep on my mother's lap and forget the previous day. The Irony of the situation is that I wanted to forget the day I enjoyed so much.

Now that I was more aware of the situation around me I realized I was no more in pain. Thank god for that. I opened my eyes and groaned as the intensity of the light was too much for me.

"Nirvana," Ma called.

"Ma," I said smiling unconsciously.

"Are you okay?" Pa asked.

"Yes, I am much better now," I said.

"We were so scared when Gyan told us, We wanted to come immediately but Raghav said you would be sleeping and we should come after breakfast," Ma said.

"I am fine ma, Don't worry, You did the right thing coming after breakfast. Did you get me something to eat? I am starving," I said.

"Wait I will call the doctor then you can eat," Uncle said.

 "Nirvana, Do you feel any itchiness?" Priya asked.

"No Priya," I said.

"But we will keep you till the end of today, just to make sure the alcohol is no more in your system," Priya said.

"Okay," I said put down knowing I will have to stay at the hospital as a patient.

"Oh, Come on don't be so down, I will even allow you to go do rounds," Priya said.

"Really?" I said perked up like a kid who just got chocolate.

"Absolutely...NOT" Priya said giving me a big smile.

"I hate you," I said.

"Aww... I know you love me, darling, I will leave you now" Priya said and left.

I had my breakfast and begged my parents to leave so that they can rest. They accepted after 1hr of continuous begging.

 "Karan will come and pick you up," Aunty said.

"No need aunty, Raghav will drop me, He is here anyway," I said.

"No beta he will come and get you," Uncle said with his don't argue tone.

"Okay," I said.

It was 6 PM when Priya came and confirmed that I can go. I changed and was talking to my interns about their day when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said.

"Hi," Karan said.

"I signed your discharge papers, Are you ready to go?" He asked.

"Yes, Give me 5 minutes," I said.

 I told my interns about the patients and the patients who are to be operated tomorrow and assigned them to their patients. After that was done I hunted down Raghav in the Neurology department and bid him goodbye and went to Karan's car.

Karan started driving and I could literally feel the nervousness oozing from his body and he was very hesitant to talk. 

Well, not my problem, I know I am being a little inconsiderate but I am angry so I think it is justified.

"Umm...Nirvana" Karan started.

"Yes," I said not diverting my attention from my phone.

"Can I talk to you?" Karan asked.

"You already are," I said sarcastically.

"Yeah..umm," He said.

I would have laughed at this if I was not so angry at him. I know I don't know everything that happened but I know that my juice which he gave was spiked and he knew about it. He gave it to me knowing that I was allergic to alcohol.
