Zali watched as Sylvia showed Evania some paperwork regarding the student council, while Janet was trying to talk Vanessa out of setting up another dance of some kind. Kai was sitting at the table with a binder opened before her. She had her head resting on her wrist, while her other hand was on her lap running her fingers across the book she had hidden below the table.

Zali couldn't help but smirk at the sight. She expected Kai to care about the conversation but she really didn't seem to be. It was understandable of course, she probably hated the idea of another dance.

Desdemona was flipping through a very familiar binder that clearly had nothing to do with any of the conversations going on and Kendra was not happy about it but was trying to ignore it.

The young mage couldn't help but glance down at the ring on her finger nor could she stop the smile that spread across her face as she looked back up at her new friends.

She felt the gentle flick of Kai's tail against the side of her leg and glanced up at the fox who leaned a little closer to whisper. "Are you enjoying yourself?"

"How could I not be?" Zali answered, just as quietly. "So much has happened in such a short time, and I couldn't he happier."

"Of course not. You have wonderful friends, a new sister, and wife."

"Soon to be wife." Zali corrected. "It hasn't happened yet."

Kai paused a moment like she was in thought. Though her eyes were hidden from view due to her blindfold she had chosen to wear today, the top of her brow was furrowed as she seemed to be running something through her mind.

"Are you alright?" Zali asked, looking at her friend with a bit of concern.

"Sorry." Kai answered. "One moment." She held up a finger before moving both hands to the table.

Vanessa and Janet looked up from what they were doing to watch Kai who seemed to be preparing for something before looking to Zali who shrugged nervously.

Kai then tensed with a shiver, a slight glow coming from behind her blindfold. It faded and she shook her head pressing her knuckles into her temples, her tail swishing behind herself in almost annoyance.

Sylvia, Evania, Desdemona and Kendra all looked over at her as the reaction was hard to miss. "Are you alright?" Desdemona asked. "That didn't exactly look pleasant."

"Your visions don't usually do that." Zali noted.

"No. They really don't." Kai answered, clearly annoyed.

"Well, are you okay?" Vanessa asked, looking between Zali and Kai for an answer.

"I've been getting a lot of visions regarding Orenda's desire to travel to the edge of Exodious to try and get into the Old World." She sighed.

"She's still trying to do that?" Sylvia asked. "She hasn't spoken about it in a while, but that would explain why she isn't here as often anymore."

"She's been asking me if she should leave the council to go and do this." Kendra explained. "She doesn't want to, but something seems to be wrong and she's very distressed about it."

"It's Samarra." Kai explained, moving to lace her hands together over her binder with a heavy sigh. "Her existence is something that shouldn't be, and the energy that created her is fading. She's able to survive off of Orenda's magical essence, but she's been needing it more and more often."

"She's dying?" Sylvia asked.

"She can still go a very long period of time without needing it but it's still concerning. So they are on a time limit."
