"Hello! My name is Hari, I'll be your waitress today! What can I get you to drink?" the young waitress cheers happily.

"Hari?"

She gasps, "Troye! Oh my gosh, how are you? I haven't seen you in so long!"

"I've been alright," Troye smiles. "What about you?"

"I've been great!"

"That's great to hear. Hari, this is my friend Jacob."

"Hi, Jacob! I'm Troye's friend from high school."

"Hi, Hari. I'm Troye's friend from daycare."

"Oh, that's a long time-"

"He means Bailey's daycare," Troye laughs.

"Bailey?"

Troye nods sadly, "Madison's daughter."

"Hey! How is Madison? I haven't seen her since high school," Hari ask politely with a smile.

Losing his smile, Troye feels Jacob look at him.

Slowly losing her smile, Hari gives him a confused look, "Is everything okay?"

Troye shakes his head, "No, um, she actually..." he pauses and looks at Jacob who stares back at him in confusion.

Troye glances at Bailey who is distracted by the coloring page of the kid's menu.

Jacob looks at her as well picks up the crayon she isn't using.

Troye looks back at Hari, "Madison didn't make it through the birth."

Jacob's head snaps up but he says nothing.

Hari's jaw drops slightly but closes just as quick, "I- Troye, I'm so sorry. Is this...?"

Troye nods, giving her a small smile, "Her name is Bailey."

Hari smiles sadly at Bailey, "Looks just like her."

Another nod.

"Oh, I should- what would you like to drink?"

After getting their drinks and ordering their food, the three eat lunch and talk about plans for the day.

"You want to hang out at my place?"

"Yeah, why not? I don't have anything planned," Josh smiles.

"Are we ready for our check?" Hari asks politely approaching the table.

"Yes," the boys reply.

They look at each other as Hari sets the check down and walks away.

"I got it," Jacob offers.

"No, I can pay," the younger chuckles.

"I insist."

"I insist more."

Jacob narrows his eyes and Troye narrows his back at him.

"Jacob."

"Troye."

"Bai'y!" Bailey giggles.

Jacob laughs, breaking his stare with me to look at Bailey.

Troye smiles looking at the little girl.

Jacob quickly picks up the check, looking at the price.

"Jacob!"

"Troye!" he mocks, taking out his wallet.

"I can pay. You helped with Bailey it's the least I could do to repay you."

"It's okay, Tro. I'm fine with paying." "Are you sure?"

"I'm positive. Come on," he states sliding out of the booth.

Picking up Bailey, Troye follows Jacob to the front counter to pay.

"Beautiful little girl," Hari says, mostly to herself.

"So, how long have you two been together?"

"Oh, we're not together," Troye says quickly.

Jacob looks at him for a minute before looking back at Hari, "Yeah, we're just friends."

"Oh, my bad! Well, if you two were ever to be together, you would make a cute couple."

Troye feels his cheeks become warm as he smiles at her.

Why did Jacob pause? "Well, I hope to see you later, Hari."

"Yeah, you too! Nice meeting you, Jacob!"

"You too," Jacob smiles.

🎵

"So, Troye," Jacob starts.

Troye looks at him while pushing Bailey on the swing, "Yes?"

"I don't really know much about you. Tell me about yourself."

"Well, um, what do you want to know?"

"Anything."

"Let's play 20 Questions."

"Okay. How old are you?"

"24. You?"

"25. Do you have any hobbies?"

"I sing and write songs."

"Cool! I play drums."

"Nice," the blond smiles, quickly thinking of a new question. "Do you have your own house?"

"Yep! Well...I have an apartment to myself in town. What about you? You have any roommates?"

"Not anymore. After my boyfriend and I broke up about a year ago, he moved out and it's been Bailey and me ever since."

"Boyfriend?"

Troye nods and looks at him.

Jacob nods slowly, looking at the ground.

"Higher, daddy!" Bailey squeals.

"Okay, calm yourself," Troye chuckles.

After a little while longer, the three of them decide to go back to Troye's house.

The blond picks Bailey up and carries her to the car.

Strapping her into her car seat, the two boys get into the front before

Troye starts the car and pulls out of the parking lot.

"Troye?" Jacob says after a while of silence.

"Hm?"

"Would you like to go out with me sometime?"

Troye glances at him for a minute before looking back at the road, "Um, yeah. Sure, I'd love to!"

Jacob smiles, "Good."
