"Daddy, daddy, daddy..."

Opening his eyes to the sound of Bailey's voice coming through the baby monitor, Jacob looks at Troye sleeping peacefully next to him.

Quietly getting out off the couch, he looks at his phone and sees that it was only five in the morning.

He stands up and walks down the hall to the bedroom, carrying Troye.

"Jakie!"

"Hey, sweet girl," he says quietly, lying Troye in his bed. "How are you this morning?"

"M'hungry."

"You're hungry?" Jacob says, lifting the small girl up. "Well, let's get you changed and then we'll have some breakfast, alright?"

She nods, leaning her head on the man's shoulder.

Quickly changing her pull-up, he lifts her back up and twirls her around in a circle, making her giggle.

Walking to the kitchen, he sets Bailey in her high chair, "What do you usually eat for breakfast, sweetie?"

"Anyting."

"Anything? Well, what do you want today?"

"Bananas," she giggles.

"Bananas?" Jacob repeats, holding back a disgusted face. "Okay, I can get you some bananas."

"Jakie?"

"Yes, Bailey?" He asks, cutting a banana into slices.

"Where's daddy?"

"Daddy is still asleep, honey. He was up late so we're gonna let him sleep in a little today, okay?"

"Otay!"

Setting a small bowl of banana slices and a, by her request, Blue's Clues sippy cup of apple juice on the tray in front of Bailey, Jacob sits down on a chair next to her beginning to eat his bowl of cereal.

"Mmph," Bailey whimpers suddenly, her eyes beginning to glisten with tears.

"What's the matter, sweetie?"

She gestures toward her mouth and opens it.

Jacob's face lights up in realization, "Are you teething?"

Tears roll down her face as she begins to sob.

Lifting her up, she cradles and cries against his bare shoulder. "Shh... shh, sweet girl it's alright," he whispers, gently bouncing her.

Troye walks out and sighs when he sees the two, "Scared me. She wasn't in her bed."

Jacob smiles carefully, looking at the purple spots around Troye's neck and chest, "Nope, I got her."

"What's the matter, baby girl?" Troye asks quietly taking the little girl from my arms.

"I think she's teething," Jacob states.

"Oh. Yeah, her two year molars are finally coming in. She was a late teether so her their just now coming through. Bailey, you want a sucky?" Troye asks, walking to the refrigerator and opening the freezer.

Jacob watches the blond-haired boy pull out a teething ring and wave it lightly in front of Bailey who stops crying for a minute and takes it out of his hand.

He looks at Jacob, "Thank you."

"No problem, I'm happy to help."

"What time do you have to be to work?"

"I don't have work today."

Troye's face lights up but quickly drops as if he's trying to hide his excitement, "Me either. I go back on Wednesday."

Jacob smiles, "Good."

He sees a slight blush on Troye's cheeks before turning his attention back to Bailey.
