Cold winter night. Happy Internet Cafe was devoid of customers. It was so different from the lively atmosphere that you could find in a normal day. The tapping of keyboards and clicking of mouses were gone and instead, replaced with clunking of glasses and clinking of utensils on plates.

Five people were heartily enjoying their meal and as what Chen Guo said, ‘pretending that today was new year’. Celebration was without a doubt happier with alcohol so they also opted to drink to their hearts content. But that was only for the three ladies because Li Chunhua firmly forbade the Ye brothers from drinking, knowing that disaster was imminent when the two accidentally got drunk.

Li Chunhua was a little bit tipsy from too much wine but she was still clear headed. When  Chen Guo asked her a private question, she knew that she shouldn’t answer but her emotions was greatly affected by the spirit of alcohol.

In the end she answered, still thinking twice if she would say it completely.

“Hmmn? Love? Oh? I indeed have someone occupying this.” Li Chunhua sluggishly pointed towards her heart. Her voice was weak as it convey her helplessness.

Ye Xiu was still sober since he didn’t drink. He gloomily looked at the girl beside him. The girl evaded his eyes. Her eyes shifted to the side as if wanting to cover the sadness of loving someone that wouldn’t love her back. His heart sank. He knew…no one else knew how painful and tiring unrequited love could be, better than him.

But it’s more painful to hear her saying that she has someone occupying her heart. If there was something Ye Xiu was most afraid of, then it would be this. Funny that it did happen.

When they were in S City, Li Chunhua asked him if he had loved someone. From that, he always had the foreboding feeling.

He should have known.

She was a university student. There were many intellectuals around her, more successful, more worthy. Not like him……a passed age e-sports player…a high school graduate……a shame in the family.

There’s no way that she would like him…

A Ge-ge, that was all he is…

Li Chunhua continued and as she was gazing downwards, she failed to see the sadness in Ye Xiu’s eyes, “That guy……he’s insensitive. He didn’t know how much his every action affects me. He didn’t know that the more he treated me well, the more it pained me…because I knew that he would never…”

She knew that she was being selfish. She knew that saying these things while he was beside her was also her wishful thinking that the guy would somehow understand her feelings.

But he didn’t…maybe he became tired of her whining. Maybe he think of her as a helpless girl in love with an unknown guy.

Ye Xiu left. He left before her courage to name the one occupying her heart completely build up. And it shattered. Her heart once again shattered.
