"You just have to memorize all of that," Andrei said. Nakapangalumbaba lang ako sa table habang nakikinig sa mga sinasabi niya, halos nakasimangot na.
Months have already passed and we're already through our first two months in College. Malapit na nga ang midterms and I'm busy preparing for it. Andrei's also helping me by tutoring me whenever we're both free. Gaya ngayon. It's Saturday and we're here at the coffee shop. May gagawin din dapat si Andrei but he helped me first. Nahihiya tuloy ako.
Bakit kasi ang bobo ko?
"Okay, okay. I get it," sabi ko habang kinukuha na ang reviewer ko na nakapatong sa librong ginagamit niya rin for review. "Mag-review ka na diyan."
After I successfully took my reviewer from him ay sinubukan ko na iyong basahin. But I could feel Andrei staring at me.
"Bakit?" Tanong ko, nakataas ang isang kilay.
Nailing lang siya while smiling. And then he patted my head. "You'll do well," he said.
"Oo. Galing ng tutor ko eh," I replied smilingly. Muli siyang ngumiti.
Shet na malandi. Ang gwapo, Mommy. Huhu.
Andrei and I are already together for more than six months now. Hindi nga ako makapaniwala eh. Akala ko panaginip lang 'yong sinagot ko na siya.
Last vacation, we had the longest summer vacation because high school ended last March, while college began last August, We had like four months of vacation na I can say ay nasulit naman namin.
Andrei and his family would sometimes go out of the country. Ako rin ay madalas sinasama nila Mommy sa mga business trips. But it was okay for us. May video call naman eh. Andrei always calls me everytime we're away. Kapag naman pareho kaming nasa bahay lang, he would come over or have a date and we would invite Angel para inggitin siya at chaperone na rin. Nagrereklamo siya pero willing pa rin namang sumama. That four months of long vacation allowed me to know Andrei more.
Nang magsimula naman ang college ay medyo nahirapan kami sa setup namin, but somehow we managed. Madalas si Andrei pa ang dumadayo sa amin kahit medyo may kalayuan mula sa kanya. We would meet somewhere, eat meals together and mostly, study together. Okay na ako 'don eh. Studying with him around is already a motivation. Kahit pahirapan talagang ipasok ang mga lessons sa utak kong slow.
For the past six months, I saw how Andrei would always exert efforts just to see me. Minsan pakiramdam ko nga na nahihigitan na niya 'yong pagmamahal ko sa kanya. Though we still haven't said those words to each other.
I want to say that three words to him and I want to hear it from him too. Pero nakontento na akong nararamdaman kong he cares for me. I know he will say it one day. I just have to wait.
Napaangat ako ng tingin kay Andrei and just smiled to myself. Ewan ko ba. Ang saya-saya ko kasi andito siya. I never felt this happy before.
"What?" He asked when he saw me staring.
"Wala," I said with a smile.
Nakita kong napailing ulit si Andrei with a hint of smile. Bumalik na lang ako sa pag-aaral. When I felt my neck aching ay napatingala ulit ako and tried to move my neck and even stretched my hands. When I looked at the time ay malapit nang mag-six.
"Hala, lapit na mag-six," I murmured. I saw Andrei looked at his wrist watch. Wala talagang tiwala sa akin eh.
"Let's go home?" He asked and I nodded. Kanina pa kasi kami nandito. Kapag nagsisimula na kasing dumilim ay umaalis na kami. Hinahatid pa ako ni Andrei sa apartment bago siya umuwi sa kanila.
